On June 4th, during Sony’s State of Play broadcast, American developer Digital Eclipse unveiled that they are extending their line of contemporary fighting game compilations with the announcement of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Collection. In a bid to keep these vintage games relevant in today’s gaming landscape, Digital Eclipse has revamped several classic versions of the iconic Mortal Kombat series from the 90s and early 2000s. These remastered editions can be played either locally or online with rollback netcode for smooth gameplay experience. As of now, not all games in the collection have been revealed, but the current list for the Kollection includes:

The game titled “Lumines Arise” signifies a comeback to the series for Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who was instrumental in creating the original “Lumines” that debuted as a launch title on the PlayStation Portable back in 2004. This franchise is renowned for its captivating graphics and melodious tunes. The Lumines series bears a resemblance to other tile-matching puzzle games, such as “Tetris” and “Columns“, but what makes it unique is its Timeline, which is a vertical line that moves synchronously with the music across the stage, removing blocks created by the player. Larger blocks yield more points in this system.

There’s still not a lot known about the Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game – we don’t have confirmation if it will be a new season, film, or something else. As a teaser for what’s to come, last year, they announced a movie that combines the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death Arc from Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Given its extensive list of renowned predecessors from the James Bond series, “First Light” holds a significant role in potentially filling the gap in the franchise’s narrative, providing an exciting direction for the beloved IP during the period between its next major movie release.
