BioShock Live-Action Movie Still in Development, Fans Hope for Faithful Adaptation

BioShock is a highly praised first-person shooter video game that was released in 2007. The game was developed by 2K Boston (formerly known as Irrational Games) and 2K Australia. The story takes place in the underwater, dystopian city of Rapture, after a plane crash. Gamers fell in love with its captivating narrative, eerie atmosphere, and thought-provoking themes. Due to its popularity, plans for a live-action adaptation were given the go-ahead. Netflix, in collaboration with 2K and Take-Two Interactive, is handling its development. The director for the live-action film will be Lawrence, who is renowned for directing I Am Legend and The Hunger Games, while Michael Green, writer of Logan and Blade Runner 2049, will pen the script. Lawrence discussed BioShock in an interview about his upcoming horror movie, The Long Walk.
