Why Far Cry 5’s Silent Protagonist Actually Makes the Game More Immersive

In an unprecedented step for the series, the secondary protagonist in Far Cry 5 is completely customizable. They don’t have any predefined history, physical appearance, gender, or voice. Even Dani from Far Cry 6, who can be played as either male or female, was fully voice-acted based on the player’s choice within the game. The Deputy (later referred to as The Judge in New Dawn) is as much or as little of a character as the player wants to make them, and this flexibility isn’t inherently negative.
