Similar to Hazelight’s previous Game of the Year winner, “It Takes Two”, Split Fiction is exclusively designed for split-screen multiplayer, where two players collaborate to complete a series of complex challenges. The narrative revolves around two authors, Mio Hudson and Zoe Foster, who are transported into their own stories and must evade a device engineered to swipe their creative ideas. Previously announced as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, new details about the port have recently surfaced.

As a dedicated Animal Crossing gamer, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment when I reflect on New Horizons.
