Cracking the extraction shooter genre as a new title is tough, but Bungie is determined to succeed.

Six distinct ‘Runners’ will initially launch, as confirmed by Bungie, with four being unveiled during the Marathon Gameplay event.

Bungie designed Marathon as a ‘social gathering adventure’, emphasizing a unified, cooperative atmosphere within the game. This approach is unique in the extraction genre, as seen in a conversation between Bungie’s Joe Ziegler and Jake Lucky from Gaming World Media.

Starting from 2020, known as ExtraEmily (real name Emily Xuechun Zhang), has been developing diverse real-world content on streaming and video platforms. In 2021, she was recognized as a Twitch partner. One True King officially brought ExtraEmily under their brand in January 2023, and just two months later, she received a nomination for Best IRL Streamer at The Streamer Awards. She was the most-nominated streamer at the 2024 event, where she also co-hosted the red carpet ceremony.

Although the show “One Piece” is known for its excessive character mortality, it’s crucial to remember that numerous deceased characters have left a lasting impression on the series’ narrative. The deaths of some key characters have carried considerable weight, and I’d like to highlight a few particularly impactful instances.

For instance, these characters instantly win you over – their plunges into a dystopian technological world create an added sense of concern. They can be effortlessly relatable or downright amusing. Among them are those who step up and make this season of Black Mirror particularly captivating, making it a must for discussion.

In Clive Barker’s Undying, events unfold much like a traditional haunted house tale. The protagonist, Patrick Galloway – a war veteran with expertise in the occult – receives an invitation from a frontline buddy. This leads him to the residence of Jeremiah Covenant. It transpires that this friend has inherited the estate following the demise of his siblings. Remarkably, these deceased relatives continue to haunt their ancestral homes, all due to a ritual they performed in their youth as a harmless jest.

As the Upside Down invaded Hawkins, Vecna’s influence expanded beyond expectations. The heroes find themselves puzzling over ways to thwart Vecna and his menacing plans for the town. Yet, they possess a resource that could be instrumental in fending off his assaults: their familiarity with music as a defense mechanism from last season. Given its significant role in their line of defense previously, it’s likely that they will employ this tool again to protect Hawkins. However, the question remains: how will the central characters leverage this understanding to save their small town?

For quite some time, fans have been anticipating Bungie’s upcoming game based on the Marathon series. However, specifics about this project have been sparse. With Bungie concluding the main story of Destiny 2 with the Final Shape expansion last year, many assumed that Marathon would finally take center stage. And now, the wait is over, as Bungie has shared comprehensive details about Marathon, shedding light on its nature and its release date.

It’s indisputable that Bungie has heavily invested in the development of Marathon. The elaborate presentation unveiling the gameplay of Marathon was a grand spectacle, held in a professional setting teeming with Bungie staff members and visitors.
