Despite this year’s abundance of impressive games, there’s a rising worry among enthusiasts that game prices will escalate. However, the pricing of Mario Kart World at $80 and initial plans for The Outer Worlds 2 to follow suit had many believing this would be the new standard. Yet, it appears that may not hold true due to Obsidian’s courageous shift in strategy.

On September 9th, 2025, a closed beta is set to begin, marking the start of the game.
