Palworld: How To Find & Catch Dumud

Palworld: How To Find & Catch Dumud

As a dedicated fan of Palworld, I’ve spent countless hours exploring the vast and wondrous land, catching and training an ever-growing collection of pals. Among the 150 plus creatures that inhabit this magical realm, there is one that has always held a special place in my heart – Dumud, the lovable Ground-type pal.

In Palworld, you’ll find over 150 unique creatures called “pals.” They inhabit the diverse regions of Paldea. These pals belong to nine distinct elemental categories, and certain ones carry two types, increasing their offensive capabilities. However, every element comes with its advantages and disadvantages – strengths against one type but weaknesses against another. For instance, Ground-type pals are stronger versus Electric pals but weaker against those of the Grass category. The Neutral type is an exception, not having a specific strength or weakness against other elements.

I’m thrilled about the presence of Dumud in Palworld as one of the 20 Ground elemental companions. Among these, it’s unique because it solely embodies the Ground attribute. Its endearing and plump appearance is sure to captivate players, making them eager to add one to their collection, even just for the joy of watching it hop around.

How To Get Dumud In Palworld

In Palworld, although Dumud is scarcely available in just two specific spots, players don’t have to rely solely on discovering it as a random encounter in the wild. Instead, they can locate a Level 14 Alpha Boss version of Dumud near the Ice Wind Island teleport point. Additionally, there are wild Dumud inhabiting the vicinity, enabling players to capture several Dumud simultaneously and earning a bonus when they catch twelve of them together.

Two kinds of caverns in the map may lead you to encounter a Dumud: the Ravine Grotto and the Cavern of the Dunes. You’ll find eight Ravine Grottos situated centrally, with several fast travel spots nearby such as Deep Bamboo Thicket, Investigator’s Fork, and Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant. As for the Cavern of the Dunes, players can utilize fast travel points like Duneshelter, PIDF Tower, and Deep Sand Dunes to reach their entrances.

In Palworld, players have the option to incubate a Dumud from a “Rock Egg.” Since this is the common egg variant in the game, a greater number of pals can emerge from it, thereby reducing the likelihood of finding a Dumud from a wild egg significantly. Nevertheless, players can easily breed a Rock Egg using common pals like and to guarantee a Dumud hatch.

Carry a Mercy Ring with you to spare Dumud’s life, as they have low health and won’t survive many attacks.

In Palworld, Dumud might not be the closest of friends among the pal community. However, it lies in regions teeming with various pals, some friendly and others hostile. Make sure to equip yourself with the most robust armor and shield to fend off unexpected attacks from disgruntled pals looking to interfere with human presence.

Dumud Skills & Work Suitability, Explained

In simpler terms, Dumud excels in defense due to its larger health and defense points. However, it falls short as an offensive partner, ranking 133rd out of the 164 available pals in Palworld. While Dumud possesses a decent mix of Ground and Water elemental abilities, its effectiveness is limited by the abundance of powerful Grass type pals, making it challenging for Dumud to deal damage effectively.

At the main camp, Dumud can help players by taking on support duties in various roles. With a Level 1 proficiency in Transporting, Watering, and Farming tasks, and a Level 2 capacity for watering, Dumud is sure to be quite useful. Players could benefit from having a few friends stationed at a farm to produce High Quality Pal Oil using Dumud’s skills. Its quirky animation, featuring flopping and squealing before producing the oil, adds an entertaining touch.

As a gamer in Palworld, I’m always on the lookout for the perfect Ground type companion to complement my team. And let me tell you, Dumud is an excellent choice! With its partner skill, Soil Improver, it does more than just add some visual flair to the ranch. It drops High Quality Pal Oil that enhances the terrain for Ground types. Plus, it boosts the power of Ground-type active skills while on the team. Even if Dumud isn’t in the spotlight, it plays a crucial role by amplifying the attacks of my stronger Ground pals. So if you’re building an all-Ground team, don’t overlook the value that Dumud brings to the table!
