If the Nintendo Switch 2 proves powerful enough, Pocketpair might choose to launch Palworld on it.
Is Palworld Coming to Nintendo Switch 2?
During an interview at GDC San Francisco with IGN, Pocketpair Communications Director John ‘Bucky’ Buckley discussed Palworld on the rumored Nintendo Switch 2. Bucky expressed his curiosity about the console’s specifications, mentioning that he had been hoping to learn about the Switch 2’s specs during GDC, but everyone he spoke with claimed they were unaware of them. He also mentioned that Palworld is too demanding for the original Nintendo Switch, making it incompatible with the current model due to its resource-intensive nature.
Bucky commented that Palworld on Nintendo Switch 2 is “definitely worth a look,” assuming the system has enough power. The developers, who have already optimized the game for handheld devices with its Steam Deck release and are satisfied with the results, despite needing some additional work, are open to expanding to more handheld platforms if they can. Pocketpair expresses interest in making it available on other handhelds if feasible.
Simultaneously, Nintendo’s ongoing legal dispute with Palworld persists, as a recent development reveals that Nintendo has been granted a new patent potentially strengthening their argument in court. This surprising turn of events was discussed by Pocketpair.
