The development of the MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen hasn’t been easy, facing challenges like funding issues, team members taking on extra roles, and the sad loss of founder Brad McQuaid. Despite these hurdles, the team has continued working on the game, and now has some great news: they’ve received a significant funding boost. This new investment will allow them to grow the team and add even more content to Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen as it remains in Early Access.
Pantheon’s New Funding Allows For Expansion And Efficiency
A fan of the game Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is providing funding to help finish development of the MMORPG. Visionary Realms CEO Chris Rowan told Game Rant that this isn’t a studio buyout or a takeover. Instead, it’s an investment from people who believe in the team’s vision and want to see the game succeed.
This new funding allows Pantheon developer Visionary Realms to grow its team by hiring more artists, programmers, and a project manager. According to Rowan, while the team will remain efficient and resourceful, this funding provides much-needed breathing room. This will allow team members to focus on their specific roles instead of juggling multiple responsibilities, ultimately leading to faster, more detailed development without distractions.
With the team at Visionary Realms growing, they’re able to dedicate more resources to new content for Pantheon, which became available in Early Access in 2023. Chris Perkins, a Creative & Programming Producer on the game, is especially enthusiastic about upcoming features. These include the addition of the Wildblood faction, improvements to the Wizard and Summoner classes, and a system for mounts and taming creatures. Perkins assures players that even more exciting and important updates are on the way to help the game grow.
While many game studios are currently struggling with layoffs and cutbacks, Visionary Realms is happy to report positive news, thanks to a dedicated team and a supportive community. Rowan and Perkins were especially pleased to share this good news with those playing Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen in Early Access. Perkins wanted to share a message directly with the game’s fans:
Players feel a real connection to the game, like it’s theirs. We genuinely listen to their feedback and they’re highly engaged. We believe they’ll be thrilled with anything that makes the game more expansive, immersive, and available sooner rather than later.
Visionary Realms is planning some great new updates for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen now that the game has received additional funding. If you’re interested in trying this one-of-a-kind MMORPG, it’s available on PC through Steam.
