Path of Exile 2 receives first updates with more to come soon

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen a multitude of games come and go, some leaving lasting impressions while others were quickly forgotten. However, Path of Exile 2 has managed to catch my attention, not just because it’s a worthy competitor to Diablo 4, but due to the developer’s unwavering commitment to their player base.

Following a successful debut weekend for Path of Exile 2, its creators, Grinding Gear Games, have stepped onto their forum platform to engage with player feedback and outline modifications planned for the early access action role-playing game, as well as those adjustments that are currently being made.

In a significant move, they’ve unveiled an extensive array of upgrades, refinements, and possible fixes for their game that is currently the largest contender to Diablo 4. For comprehensive details, you can visit their website, however, here’s a summary:

Starting from the next update, dodging won’t leave me sandwiched between enemies and obstacles as frequently. However, I’ll still have a tangible body, so I can’t just roll through everything. There might be times when I find myself in tricky spots, but it’ll happen less often post-patch.

Beyond these enhancements, it’s crucial to note that they’re refining the checkpoint system as well. Recognizing player frustration with repeatedly exploring areas and seeking objectives, they aim to enable fast travel between checkpoint markers, which will be more numerous soon. While these changes are not yet live, there have been several updates to the economy of items in Path of Exile 2 by GGG.

In an effort to maintain a balanced gameplay experience without causing too much disruption, modifications have been implemented to enhance the occurrence and bonus effects of scarcely found items, including a 40% boost for Regal Orbs and a staggering 500% increase in Gemcutter’s Prisms. Additionally, changes have been made to the endgame Map system, significantly improving the rewards given for tackling tougher content. To add more excitement, an “Unlucky” drop protection has been introduced, which favors rare items over gold when battling unique monsters, thereby reducing the amount of gold drops.

Feel free to examine the post for yourself, where you can observe all the implemented and proposed modifications so far. Grinding Gear Games has also indicated further updates with patches and enhancements, demonstrating their responsiveness to feedback and commitment to making Path of Exile 2 a triumph during early access by making the necessary adjustments.

Path of Exile 2 can currently be played on PC through Steam and PlayStation 5 as an early access game. The starting pack costs £23.93, but will eventually be free once it’s fully released as version 1.0.
