Path Of Exile 2 Support Issues

Path Of Exile 2 Support Issues

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen many launches come and go, but none quite like Path of Exile 2. This game has taken the gaming world by storm, and I must say, it’s been an absolute joy to be part of this massive phenomenon.

Achieving a successful debut for a new game is the aspiration of every game development studio; however, when everything goes exceptionally well, it can sometimes create an unexpected challenge.

As a dedicated gamer, I can confirm that the team over at Grinding Gear Games has just dropped Path of Exile 2 on us, December 6 to be exact.

According to them, the developers initially anticipated approximately a million sales at the outset, but the game surpassed expectations by significantly outperforming in various marketplaces.

The sequel to Path of Exile, titled “Path of Exile 2,” has been released across multiple platforms, including Steam, the Epic Game Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Interestingly, on Steam alone, it reached a staggering peak of 578,569 simultaneous players on Sunday.

The individuals managing the other outlets aren’t quite as open with details, yet it’s unmistakable that we just had a monumental debut.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve noticed that major game launches often lead to extended queue times and occasional performance glitches. However, contrary to what one might expect, it seems like the customer service team at Grinding Gear Games has been bearing the brunt of it all.

When Support Needs Supporting

In a forum post, Grinding Gear Games detailed that “such a huge influx of players also generates an enormous amount of support requests”.

While some support inquiries might require more than 24 hours for a response, our aim as a studio is to respond on the same day, with the ideal scenario being an immediate reply when feasible.

To address this issue, the company is now bringing on additional team members to help manage the growing workload, aiming to reduce or even clear the pile-up of tasks before it becomes too severe.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed the game’s ticketing system is really struggling under the load. The Grinding Gear Games’ Community Team has shared that it’s “heavily congested,” causing some of my support tickets to not make it to where they need to go.

Even though it seems the ticketing problem has been resolved, Grinding Gear Games kindly requests that players avoid sending additional inquiries or responding unnecessarily to their support team.

Considering how brutal publishers have been about the commercial performance of games, the kind of problems plaguing Path of Exile 2 right now are the best you could wish for.

The team handling development has chosen to address problems ahead of time and regularly update players on progress. This keeps up positive relations with them while working towards resolving the issue.
