PC Gamers Can Claim a 10/10 Masterpiece for Free on February 18 and Keep It Forever

PC gamers are used to getting free games on the Epic Games Store each Thursday and occasionally on Steam, but sometimes a surprise appears. That’s happening later this month – on February 18th, a PC game will be given away for free, permanently. All you’ll need is a computer, an internet connection, and to remember the date!

The Legion Gaming Community is giving away free game keys starting February 18th at 9 am Pacific Time / 12 pm Eastern Time. To get a key, you’ll need an account on the Legion Gaming Community website, and you’ll need to link it to your Steam account. When the giveaway starts, join the queue, and you’ll have 10 minutes to claim your code and redeem it on Gamesplanet (Lenovo’s partner site). For a smoother experience, it’s best to log into your Gamesplanet account beforehand.

PC Gamers Can Claim Heavy Rain for Free

This key unlocks Heavy Rain, a well-loved story-focused game where your choices matter, created by Quantic Dream (the team behind Detroit: Become Human and currently developing Star Wars Eclipse). Though released in 2010, it still holds up – it has an 87% score on Metacritic, and many critics and players have given it a perfect 10/10 score, with over 100 such ratings on the site.

In the game Heavy Rain, you play as four different characters – Ethan Mars, Madison Paige, Scott Shelby, and Norman Jayden – and your main objective is to uncover the identity of the “Origami Killer.” Each character has a connection to the killer, and like many choice-driven horror games, their fate – whether they live or die – depends on the decisions you make and how well you play.

This game has been re-released several times, including updated versions for PS4 in 2016 and PC in 2020. The PC version offers the same improvements and polished experience as the PS4 remaster, building on the original 2010 release. However, it won’t include the short downloadable content pack called ‘The Taxidermist,’ which was originally only available for the PS3.

Just a heads-up: the Key Drop event doesn’t have an endless number of free games. The codes tend to disappear fast – usually within a few hours – so be prepared to jump in as soon as it starts to grab your free copy of this amazing game!

While having many options is great for PC gamers, it’s also helpful to know where to find games consistently. The Epic Games Store offers a new selection of free games every Thursday at 10 am Central Time.

The Legion Gaming Community regularly hosts Key Drop events, and this is just one of many. Participating really comes down to whether you can be available when they happen.
