PC gamers can currently snag four free games to keep forever, but you’ll need to act fast to claim them. Unlike many console “free” games that require a subscription, these PC games are truly free. You can find these freebies on various online stores, with Steam and the Epic Games Store frequently offering games at no cost.
Both Steam and the Epic Games Store regularly offer free games, but they do it in different ways. On Steam, the free games come directly from the game developers and publishers, usually to advertise a new release or a sale, so the availability is somewhat random. The Epic Games Store, however, gives away free games every Thursday at 10:00am Central Time, making it easy for players to know when to check for new offerings.
Currently, four games are available to claim for free on Steam and the Epic Games Store. On Steam, you can get Paragnosia until February 23rd at 2:00 AM CST, and BROTHER!!! Save Him! until February 24th at 12:00 PM CST. Over on the Epic Games Store, PC gamers can grab both Return to Ash and STALCRAFT X: Starter Edition until February 26th at 10:00 AM CST.

If you’re looking for new free horror games on PC, check out Paragnosia. It’s a spooky game that blends elements of Five Nights at Freddy’s and Phasmophobia. You play by using a security camera to hunt for ghosts in your apartment, and you have to successfully exorcise them before time runs out. It’s been well-received on Steam, with many players giving it positive reviews, making it a great choice for horror fans.
BROTHER!!! Save Him! is a uniquely challenging game. This incredibly difficult platformer launched on Steam in 2020 and, while it doesn’t have a lot of reviews, it’s perfect for players who enjoy a really tough experience.

This week on the Epic Games Store, you can try two free games. Return to Ash is a story-focused visual novel about finding yourself in the afterlife – it’s a brief but well-received experience. Also available is STALCRAFT X, a unique blend of MMO, FPS, and RPG. While the game is generally free to play, Epic Games Store is giving away the Starter Edition, which includes a bunch of in-game items like weapons, cosmetics, and more. This Starter Edition normally costs $24.99, making this a great deal.
After February 26th, Return to Ash and STALCRAFT X will no longer be free on the Epic Games Store. They’ll be replaced by Boxes: Lost Fragments and My Night Job, which will be available for free until March 5th. We don’t yet know what games will follow them after that.
