As a PC gamer, I’ve noticed something awesome happening lately – it feels like there are more and more free games dropping every week! It’s incredible, honestly, because we’re already spoiled for choice with platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store always offering deals. Right now, I can actually grab four games completely free – it’s a fantastic time to be a PC gamer!
As a PC gamer, I always look forward to the free games Epic Games Store gives away – they’re seriously the most consistent source of freebies! Every Thursday, they drop a new game that’s free for a whole week, so it’s become a habit for me to check and see what they’re offering.
Steam offers free games regularly, but the availability can be unpredictable. These games become free at various times and also have different expiration dates, which are listed below. Right now, you can claim three games on Steam, and they’re all excellent choices – plus, they’re free to keep forever!
Free PC Games List This Week
- Rustler: Grand Theft Horse (Via Epic Games Store Until January 29 at 10am CT)
- Along the Edge (Via Steam Until January 29)
- Kiki (Via Steam Until January 31)
- Cursedland (Via Steam Until February 1)
This week’s free game on the Epic Games Store is Rustler: Grand Theft Horse. It’s an open-world action game with a similar feel to Grand Theft Auto, but set in a medieval world. Players take on the role of a troublemaker, completing quests and causing mayhem from an overhead perspective.
Steam is currently featuring three free games: Along the Edge, Kiki, and Cursedland, each offering a unique experience. Along the Edge, available until January 29th, is a fast-paced, first-person platformer where you’ll need quick reflexes and agility to jump and dodge obstacles – think American Ninja Warrior as a video game. Kiki, expiring January 31st, is a story-driven visual novel. It follows Daphne as she escapes to the French countryside after personal loss, and unexpectedly discovers she’s descended from witches.
You can get Cursedland for free on Steam until February 1st. Like Along the Edge, it’s a platformer, but Cursedland uses a 2D style, while Along the Edge is played from a first-person perspective. Cursedland emphasizes accuracy, quick reactions, and skill as you explore a strange and funny world. Steam is offering both this platformer and a unique visual novel, and the Epic Games Store has something for those who enjoy virtual mischief.
What’s The Next Epic Games Store Free Game?
- Definitely Not Fried Chicken (Via Epic Games Store Until February 5 at 10am CT)
Inspired by Gus Fring from Breaking Bad, Definitely Not Fried Chicken is a business simulation game where you run a fried chicken restaurant… that’s secretly a front for a drug operation. You’ll balance the legitimate business with the illegal drug trade, expanding your network, attracting customers, creating new drugs, and trying to maximize your profits.
Definitely Not Fried Chicken Feature List
- START YOUR DRUG EMPIRE from the ground up with a selection of goods
- BALANCE THE TASKS of your drug empire and your business front
- BUILD AND CUSTOMIZE both sides of the business
- UPGRADE FACILITIES AND STAFF for improved product and profit
- DESIGN YOUR COVER from fried chicken shops to laundromats
- MANAGE YOUR WORKFORCE: hire, fire, accommodate, fulfill needs, and be efficient
I’m excited because Rustler is leaving the free games on the Epic Games Store on January 29th at 10am Central Time, and something new will take its place! It’ll be available until February 5th, so once the current free games are gone, we’ll have another one to grab – that’s awesome!
