Persona 3 Reload: Opulent Hand Weakness (How to Beat)

Persona 3 Reload: Opulent Hand Weakness (How to Beat)

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated through the labyrinthine depths of Tartarus countless times, I can confidently say that battling Opulent Hands in Persona 3 Reload is an exhilarating challenge for any hardcore fan. Their elusive nature and formidable skills require patience, strategy, and a keen understanding of one’s party members and Personas.

Golden shadows are some of the best shadows to fight when you’re looking to farm experience or money in Persona 3 Reload. Each block in Tartarus has a different type of golden shadow with its own weaknesses and resistances. The Opulent Hand occupies the first block of Tziah. Though they look just like Invaluable Hands and Luxury Hands, their Affinity weakness and Skills are not the same. If you’re hoping to Down it in one hit, then you’ll want to bring a Persona or a party member that excels in Physical Skills.

Which Personas and Party Members Should You Bring?

Persona 3 Reload: Opulent Hand Weakness (How to Beat)

In this game, the Opulent Hands can be discovered in the initial part of the Tziah Block (119-144), which opens up on the 9/10 date. These elusive shadows have a low chance of appearing. Yet, you might boost their frequency by acquiring a Rarity Fortune from the Fortune Teller at Club Escapade during the evenings. Each Rarity Fortune costs 3000 yen and lasts for only that day. Remember to purchase one only if you intend on visiting Tartarus on the same night.

The Opulent Hand shadow has two skills:

  • Sukukaja: Increases Accuracy/Evasion for 3 turns.
  • Tetrakarn: Reflects incoming physical attacks.

Richly-Endowed Hands Lack Power in Attacks, but they can cause trouble if they’ve already used the spell Tetrakarn, causing attacks to rebound and harm you or your party. To remove Tetrakarn, you can attack with a melee weapon, which deals less damage compared to using a Persona’s attack. Using Sukukaja will help dodge incoming attacks, but you can counter this by casting Sukukaja/Masukukaja on yourself. Alternatively, you can use Dekaja to remove any buffs the Richly-Endowed Hand has applied to itself. Additionally, Sukukaja can be used to lessen the impact of incoming attacks.

How to Down Opulent Hand

At this stage, you should ideally possess several characters, each with distinct abilities. If not, there’s an option to acquire the Oni character from Shuffle Time within Tziah (initial section). Oni has a relatively weak attack skill called Bash, which can knock down the Opulent Shadow if executed correctly. However, if you’ve combined characters with more potent strike skills, make sure to have them ready as well.

If you prefer to skip using Physical Skills, consider including certain team members like Akihiko and Shinjiro in your party. Akihiko deals Strike damage with his attacks, so you won’t need to summon his Persona. If you’re starting a new game or NG+, chances are you’ll have Shinjiro, who also inflicts Strike damage. But remember, Shinjiro leaves your party permanently after October 10/4. So, if you’re farming Opulent Hands post-October, make sure Akihiko is in your party when exploring Tziah’s first block.
