- The domain was initially registered in March 2025.
- The change follows a pattern of Persona game reveals happening shortly after a domain name update.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed ever since I heard a whisper about an update to the web domain linked to a potential remake of Persona 4. The insider hinted that Atlus and Sega might be ready to pull back the curtain on this exciting news soon. The source suggested that one of the earliest possibilities for the appearance of the Persona 4 remake could be the Xbox Games Showcase, scheduled for June 8. This event coincides with the annual Summer Game Fest, so I’m keeping my eyes peeled for any announcements!
First released for PlayStation 2 in 2008, Persona 4 combined turn-based RPG battles with social life simulation aspects, similar to its predecessors. In the small, fictional Japanese town of Inaba, you take on the role of new high school student Yu Narukami. When a murder sends shockwaves through Inaba, Yu joins forces with his classmates to explore the enigmatic “TV World” and uncover its link to the town’s surge in crime. Although an upgraded version called Persona 4 Golden was later made available on various platforms, the visuals and gameplay of Persona 4 retained a classic PS2 feel.
There’s been a lot of chatter about a potential announcement for a new version of the game, “Persona 4”. Now, some fresh clues are adding weight to the idea that an announcement might be coming soon. As reported by Twitter user Msoni187 and backed up by Persona Central, the web domain connected to the “Persona 4 Remake” was recently updated on April 21st. Interestingly, this update occurred over a month after the domain was first registered. In the past, changes to domains related to the “Persona” series have often been a precursor to significant game announcements by Atlus or its associates.
Persona 4 Remake Web Domain Update Could Signal Imminent Game Announcement
The recently renamed website, known as “P4RE.JP”, encounters a retrieval issue when entered in a web browser. Furthermore, no internal web address for the site’s host was found within the backend data. While it is uncertain if this “Persona 4 Remake” website is owned by Atlus, the timing of the domain update coincides with similar timeframes.
In March 2023, the domain “P3R.JP” for the game Persona 3 Reload was registered. By June of the same year, an update had been made to it, right before the game was leaked. As far as when we might see a reveal of Persona 4 Remake, Msoni187 hinted that the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8 is most probable. This showcase is scheduled within the 2025 Summer Game Fest, which kicks off with the SGF Live broadcast on June 6.
It’s quite possible that, taking inspiration from the graphical and gameplay aspects of “Persona 5 Royal,” “Persona 3 Reload” paved the way. In a similar vein, it could be that “Persona 4 Remake” will tread a similar path. We can only speculate about the future of the “Persona” series as Sega and Atlus have yet to reveal their plans.
