A significant portion of your playtime in “Persona 5 Royal” involves blending Personas in the Velvet Room, a process facilitated by the twin caretakers, Justine and Caroline.
In the initial playthrough of the original game back in 2017, I too overlooked the role of many players when it comes to this Confidant. It’s quite common for people to do so initially.
Generally, it’s because you have to fulfill certain Persona Fusion tasks to boost their social link levels, and these tasks are necessary for progression. However, the rewards – or Confidant abilities – are truly advantageous since they enable you to craft some of the strongest Personas.
Hey there fellow gamer! To ensure you don’t stumble like I did, here’s my walkthrough focusing on Justine and Caroline from Persona 5 Royal. I’ve broken down the recipes for their Personas, making it a breeze to craft them. Happy gaming!
This manual adapts the complimentary downloadable content, “Persona,” to create versatile recipes. It comes integrated with the PS5/next-gen editions, however, it must be independently claimed from the PlayStation Store for the PS4 version.
Justine & Caroline Confidant Abilities

Although it’s possible to bypass this Confidant, I strongly advise against it. The distinctive talent of these twins, the Group Guillotine feature, empowers you to craft robust characters.
Or,
Though you may choose to disregard this Confidant, it would be wiser not to. The exceptional skill of the twins, the Group Guillotine function, enables you to build powerful personas.
This whole Social interaction significantly improves with the “Special Treatment” feature, enabling you to spend money to push certain advanced Characters out of your sphere. Earning vast amounts of Yen in P5R becomes an effortless task.
Here are the Skills of Trustworthiness for both Caroline and Justine, should you wish to review their capabilities.
Social Link Rank | Ability | Description |
---|---|---|
Rank 1 | Group Guillotine | Allows you to fuse three Personas to create powerful new ones. |
Rank 2 | – | – |
Rank 3 | Lockdown | Allows you to leave a Persona to learn an attribute resistance. |
Rank 4 | – | – |
Rank 5 | Special Treatment | Allows you to pay to create Personas of a higher level. |
Rank 6 | – | – |
Rank 7 | – | – |
Rank 8 | Guillotine Booster | Increases the possible fusions of Personas in Group Guillotine. |
Rank 9 | – | – |
Rank 10 | VIP Treatment | Reduces the amount of money needed for Special Treatment. |
Rank 1: Jack Frost With Mabufu
If you currently have Jack Frost and he’s below level 12, simply be patient and let him progress naturally until he reaches level 12, at which point he’ll automatically learn the skill Mabufu. Alternatively, if you don’t already have Jack Frost, I’ve provided a guide on how to create him along with the Mabufu skill from scratch.
To cook this particular dish, it’s important that you hold off until the Madarame Palace as the recipe requires the use of the Regent Treasure Persona. This persona gets assigned to you during a narrative battle, making it an automatic acquisition.
To ensure that the requests are processed and finalized, don’t forget to converse with Caroline and choose the “‘Inquire about the status of penal labor.’” option instead.
- Fuse an Arsene with Agathion = Succubus
- Combine the Succubus and a Pixie = Cait Sith
- Take a Regent from the Compendium and combine it with the Cait Sith to make a Jack Frost with Mabufu. Head back to the twins to complete Rank 1 of the Confidant.
Rank 2: Ame-No-Uzume With Frei
To accomplish this, you could start with a standard Suzaku, pair it with Frei, then combine the two with Berith. This will result in an Ame-No-Uzume character while retaining the traits of Frei.
But if you don’t have either, there’s a quick way to get both Personas from scratch:
- Fuse Pixie with Cait Sith = Incubus
- Fuse Incubus with Jack-o-Lantern = Berith
- Grab another Incubus from the compendium and fuse with Berith = Hua Po
- This time, get a Berith and fuse with Hua Po to create a Suzaku.
- Grab one last Berith from the Compendium and fuse with Suzaku for an Ame-No-Uzume with the requested skill.
Rank 3: Flauros With Tarukaja

Essentially, since Eligor possesses Tarukaja at its fundamental level, our task is simply to merge the three personas specified in the Guillotine Fusion.
I trust that Berith is still active from your last query. Here are the instructions for concocting the remaining two components, just in case you need them.
- Combine Regent and Berith for an Orobas.
- Fuse Arsene and Suzaku for Angel.
- Use that Angel with a Jack-o-Lantern for an Eligor.
- Lastly, fuse Berith, Eligor and Orobas to create a Flauros with Tarukaja.
Rank 4: Phoenix With Counter
A straightforward task for you is to fuse a basic Yaksini, equipped with the Counter ability, and an Oni, resulting in a Phoenix.
Regardless, the base recipe to craft each Persona is described below for your convenience.
- Fuse Hua Po and Jack-o-Lantern for Yaksini.
- Arsene + Angel = Kodama
- Use that Kodama with Flauros from Rank 3 for an Oni.
- Finally, Yaksini + Oni = Phoenix with Counter passed down from Yaksini.
Rank 5: Setanta With Rakukaja

Combining Lamia with Silky is another simple task as Lamia naturally possesses Rakukaja at her basic level.
Like before, if you don’t have Silky or Lamia, the short recipe for both is below.
- Combine Jack-o’-Lantern with Agathion for Silky.
- Grab the Kaguya Picaro DLC Persona from the Compendium to fuse with Suzaku and create a Lamia.
- Now, just make a Setanta with Rakukaja by fusing Lamia and Silky together.
Rank 6: Neko Shogun With Dekaja
Here’s another Guillotine Fusion, similar to the one featuring Flauros. We’ve secured Kodama as our character persona from the list of necessary personas.
I’ve listed the base recipe to craft the other two, should you need it.
- Get the Regent Treasure Demon, fuse with Agathion = Slime
- Slime + Oni = Sudama
- Pull the Ariadne DLC Persona from Compendium and fuse it with Flauros for Anzu.
- With all three Personas in your inventory, combine them in the Guillotine and transfer Dekaja from Anzu to Neko Shogun as shown in the images above.
Rank 7: Lachesis With Tetraja

In a very uncommon situation, there’s a chance you could mess up the fusion of Lachesis. To prevent losing your Personas, make sure to save your game before you try it.
In this case, it’s a straightforward combination process that will utilize an additional Downloadable Content (DLC) character of Persona. This should greatly simplify the fusion and completion of your task.
- Fuse the DLC Persona, Ariadne, with Jack Frost = Principality
- This time, get an Ariadne Picaro and fuse it with the Principality to create a Thoth while inheriting Tetraja.
- Lastly, fuse Thoth and Anzu to create a Lachesis with the Tetraja Skill passed down from Thoth.
Rank 8: Hecathoncheires with Masukunda

It seems as though you might anticipate these tasks becoming intricate now, but in truth, they aren’t. If your expertise level for crafting a Persona isn’t hindered, it essentially boils down to possessing sufficient funds to effortlessly generate new Personas whenever needed.
By the way, you could try using the Persona 5 Royal Combination Calculator as an alternative method. This tool allows for a random generation of certain base Personas if you happen to be lacking them at the moment.
- Combine Hua Po with Thoth (base level has Masukanda) to create Andras.
- Combine Andras (carrying Masukanda) with Anzu to make a Hecathoncheires with Masukanda to turn in and complete the request for Rank 9 of the Twins’ Confidant.
Rank 9: Bugs With Samarecarm
To acquire the skill of Samarecarm, we require a Hariti character at Level 41. If your Empress Confidant is at Level 2 or higher, you will earn sufficient experience during the fusion process to level up Hariti and learn the desired skill.
If you haven’t, I highly recommend enhancing the power of Hariti by utilizing the “Enhancement function within the Velvet Room” by offering a Treasure Demon such as Regent in sacrifice for a swift level-up.
- Use the Izanagi Picaro DLC Persona with an Oni to create Pisaca.
- Now get an Eligor and fuse it with another free DLC Persona, Izanagi, to make a Jikokuten.
- Combine the Jikokuten with Ariadne to create a Hariti (preferably at Level 41 for Samarecarm; if not, use Strengthen).
- Finally, fuse Pixie, Pisaca and Hariti to create Bugs with Samarecarm.
Rank 10: Seth With High Counter
There are two options to finish this last task:
1. Hold off until you receive the “The Killer Who Cleans Up Trash” request (expected on 10/14) for Mementos, whereupon you’ll get a High Counter skill card as a reward. This is the approach I chose.
OR
2. Find an alternative method to obtain the High Counter skill card before the specified date (10/14), and then proceed with this last request in Mementos.
If you’ve been keeping up with the DLC Persona-inspired recipes we’ve covered thus far, I’ve added a straightforward guide to help you effortlessly obtain High Counter.
- Grab two free DLC Personas: Kaguya Picaro (base level has High Counter) + Asterius Picaro = Horus
- Fuse Jack Frost with Kodama for Isis.
- Combine Pixie with Angel to create Anubis.
- Now, fuse Horus, Thoth, Anubis, and Isis to create Seth while making sure to inherit Horus’s High Counter skill.
This will complete the final and last request to max out Justine and Caroline’s Confidant.
