Persona 6 Mentioned by Atlus After Years of Silence

After years of not talking about it, Atlus has finally acknowledged Persona 6 in a recent survey. The survey also hinted at the potential for other new games, but made it clear that Persona 6 is further along in development.

I remember hearing about Persona 6 way back in July 2021! It started with some job postings on a Japanese website, and Atlus’s producer, Naoto Hiraoka, basically said they were hiring because they wanted to make Persona 6 even better than Persona 5. He admitted it would be tough with their current team, but it was the first real hint that they were already thinking about the next big game. Honestly, it wasn’t totally clear if they’d even started making it yet, but it definitely got everyone hyped!

Atlus Asks Fans Whether They’re Looking Forward to Persona 6

Sega has hinted at Persona 6 again, this time in a survey sent to Japanese owners of the recently released Persona 3 Reload for the Switch 2 (released October 23rd). The survey asked players which future Persona titles they were most excited about, and Persona 6 was listed as an option, along with Persona 4 Revival and potential remakes of the original Persona games.

The question asks about what players are hoping for, not necessarily what’s confirmed. The phrase used implies anticipation, and doesn’t guarantee that any of the listed games are currently in development or will definitely be released. Because Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6 are already known to be in the works, this uncertainty only applies to possible remakes or remastered versions of the original Persona and Persona 2.

When Could Persona 6 Finally Be Announced?

Okay, so everyone’s guessing when we’ll finally hear about Persona 6. The latest buzz is The Game Awards in December 2025 seems like a likely spot, unless Atlus and Sega decide to do their own thing. They could just drop a livestream out of nowhere, like they did with Persona 5 way back in 2013 on Niconico. Honestly, I’m ready for either – just give me the news!

Similar to recent popular Atlus games, Persona 6 is predicted to be released on multiple gaming systems. While Persona 3 Reload was immediately available on Xbox Game Pass, and Persona 4 Revival will be too, it’s doubtful Sega would offer a new Persona game as part of that service unless they receive a substantial financial benefit.
