The Phasmophobia devs have revealed a new roadmap for 2026 as they work towards the 1.0 update.
The creators of Phasmophobia, Kinetic Games, recently announced they’re starting a new publishing company called Kinetic Publishing. This new venture won’t focus on their own game, but instead will work with smaller development teams and individual creators around the globe.
Phasmophobia Will Get New Major Updates, New Map & Reworks, and Events in 2026
The Phasmophobia team announced on their blog that they have big plans for 2026, including several major updates, new maps, and special in-game events.
Get ready for some big changes! The game is receiving a full character makeover, improved scary elements, a story update for the upcoming version 1.0, a launch on the new Nintendo Switch 2, and upgrades to the game’s technology with Unity 6 and Netcode.
I’m really excited to hear about the map updates! The developers are starting by giving some of the older maps a facelift to bring them up to today’s quality, and Tanglewood Drive is getting the first big improvements. Then, sometime in 2026, we’re getting an updated version of Willow Street. But the best part? They’re also planning a completely new map this year, and it sounds like it’s going to be a really different kind of location than anything we’ve seen before!
Fan-favorite in-game events like Cursed Hollow, Crimson Eye, and Winter’s Jest will be back in 2026, happening around the same time as usual. Plus, we’re working on a brand new limited-time event – we’ll share more details about that soon!
Here’s a look at what’s coming in a couple of games: Highguard has shared its plans for the next year, and ARC Raiders will be getting new content – including events, maps, and enemies – over the next four months.
