In simple terms, Phasmophobia has unveiled its initial seasonal event for the year, which goes by the name Cursed Hollow. During this special, time-bound game mode of Phasmophobia, players will encounter both familiar community tasks and individual challenges.

In Phasmophobia, special events are often organized around popular holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, and Easter. The specifics of these events can vary from one year to another, but generally, they challenge players to locate several items or symbols associated with the particular holiday.

Starting April 17th, I’ll be diving back into the chilling world of Phasmophobia for their Cursed Hollow seasonal event. On certain maps, I’ll find myself stalked by a Forest Spirit, adding an extra layer of tension to my usual ghost-hunting missions. In addition to identifying the spirit and completing optional objectives, I’ll need to locate hidden totems this time around. Gathering these totems can alter the ghost’s behavior, with Kinetic Games hinting that some changes could work in my favor, while others might crank up the difficulty.

Phasmophobia Cursed Hollow Improves Seasonal Event Formula

The creators of Phasmophobia have taken player feedback from recent happenings seriously and have accordingly modified certain aspects of the game. Daily rotations of maps affected by the seasonal event aim to provide players with a more diverse gaming experience. Unlike before, this event will last for only three weeks instead of a whole month. Additionally, rewards have been divided into two distinct categories.

Earlier, everyone in the community had to accomplish event tasks collectively to obtain new player ID cards and upgrades. However, in Cursed Hollow, while there will be a communal reward, each player will also have their own personal objective that only considers their individual contributions. Additionally, any rewards unlocked will be automatically claimed when players log in before the event concludes.

Moreover, there’s plenty more planned for the future of Phasmophobia, not just for 2025, but beyond as well.

In this forthcoming update, the game will deliver on two key aspects as outlined in the roadmap: a significantly revamped Bleasdale Farmhouse and an Easter-themed seasonal event. Developers have hinted at several exciting additions such as a fresh small map, renovations to Grafton Farmhouse, character makeovers for players, and a novel approach to collect extra ghost evidence called Chronicle. With Chronicle, players can expect innovative tools like an audio recorder, as well as new ways to utilize existing ones, such as the video camera. Furthermore, 2026 promises fresh maps, interior redesigns, and the highly anticipated Horror 2.0 update, which is expected to drastically alter the overall gameplay experience.
