In simpler terms, it seems that, contrary to what Xbox CEO Phil Spencer stated last year about Starfield not being released on PlayStation 5, his stance appears to have shifted following a recent interview post-developer direct.
Through a conversation on Patreon with Destin Legarie, Spencer replied “Not at this moment” when asked if it’s definite that Starfield won’t be moved in the near future.
Spencer went on to explain, “I don’t have a particular game in mind for… This ties back to my previous response, there’s no need for me to establish boundaries around any game and assert that it won’t expand to areas where it can attract players and bring us profitable business opportunities.
The result shows that we can operate our business more effectively, enabling us to provide a fantastic selection of games as you’ve noticed, and this is our approach. Game Pass is a vital piece in playing games on our system, however, keeping games exclusive from other platforms isn’t something we intend to do.
Previously, XboxEra had suggested that Microsoft might launch Starfield on the PlayStation 5. However, this assertion was later disputed by Xbox, yet recent developments seem to indicate that this may indeed be happening, though it’s unclear if such plans were in place at the time of the initial report.

Despite the outcome of this week’s interviews, Xbox has chosen to openly reveal its strategy regarding Xbox exclusivity, essentially confirming that their games will be available across various platforms. This move, in essence, benefits gaming enthusiasts more.
