Pirate Software Banned from OnlyFangs Guild After Dire Maul Catastrophe

Summary

  • Pirate Software was kicked from the OnlyFangs guild after causing Hardcore deaths due to a botched Dire Maul North run.
  • Pirate Software refused to take blame for the deaths, leading to his removal from OnlyFangs by GM Sodapoppin.

Pirate Software, a member of the streaming guild OnlyFangs, has been expelled following an unsuccessful expedition in the Dire Maul North raid on World of Warcraft. This area was recently introduced to the WoW Anniversary servers and has already claimed several Hardcore characters from OnlyFangs.

Prior to Blizzard introducing official Hardcore servers for World of Warcraft Classic in August 2023, players devised their own guidelines for completing zero-death runs. The introduction of these Hardcore servers saw a decline in popularity until November 2024 when Anniversary servers were added, revitalizing the World of Warcraft Classic experience and causing the original Classic servers to have fewer active players. With the arrival of the Anniversary servers, numerous Hardcore gamers have met their demise, while others have managed to reach level 60 under the imposed restrictions. Recent notable Hardcore player deaths include Sara and Snupy, with Sodapoppin barring the responsible party from OnlyFangs.

Based on numerous social media updates, it’s clear that Pirate Software was expelled from OnlyFangs by their Guild Master, Sodapoppin. According to a Discord announcement, most guild members felt uneasy playing with Pirate Software following two member deaths during a World of Warcraft Classic Dire Maul North run. The Dire Maul North team in OnlyFangs began this run after attracting the attention of a boss and defeating a group of Gordok ogres. When a party member urged the group to leave the dungeon, reset the enemies, and start over, Pirate Software left the group during their escape. Despite being allowed to stay within the guild according to standard OnlyFangs rules, Pirate Software chose to stand by his actions that led to Sara and Snupy’s deaths. This incident can be observed here, but please be advised that the video contains strong language.

This is Why Pirate Software Was Kicked From the World of Warcraft Guild OnlyFangs

The main complaint is that Pirate Software refused to accept responsibility for the deaths of two players in a challenging dungeon, as they failed to use crowd control abilities effectively. During a live stream analysis of the dungeon run, well-known Twitch streamer Sodapoppin noted that Blizzard’s rank 1 ability could have been used to slow down dangerous enemies without depleting too much mana. Members of the streaming community, such as Mizkif, have speculated that Pirate Software was expelled from the guild for making threats towards other streamers following the Dire Maul run. In response to his removal from Only Fangs, Pirate Software argued on Twitter that the situation wasn’t resolved appropriately.

Since the reestablishment of the OnlyFangs guild on the Doomhowl Anniversary server, several members have been dismissed. Consequently, it’s possible that some of these former members might form their own groups. With Blizzard continually updating World of Warcraft Classic to include Vanilla-authentic patches, there could be an increase in OnlyFangs disbandments as new dungeons and raids are introduced.
