But it’s not all sunshine and laughter. In this new theme park management sim, I’ll need to keep an eye on how different weather conditions affect my park guests. The latest trailer for “Planet Coaster 2” has me both basking in the glory of bright sunlight and bracing myself against a torrential downpour. It seems that this sequel is promising even more creative challenges and exciting experiences, all while introducing a fresh set of themes to keep things interesting!
After a recent demonstration of Planet Coaster 2, Game Rant had an opportunity to converse with game director Richard Newbold, senior executive producer Adam Woods, and other team members. They discussed the innovative weather effects in the game and how they impact park management. Furthermore, Newbold and Woods shared additional information about the five unique themes that will be introduced in Planet Coaster 2.
How Weather Affects Park Management In Planet Coaster 2
In the upcoming game, Planet Coaster 2, we’re focusing on how weather influences the gaming experience. One novel addition for park visitors is the availability of sunscreen, which they can buy to prevent sunburn and maintain their happiness levels. Additionally, managing the effects of sunny weather on guests is crucial in certain stages of Planet Coaster 2, as Newbold pointed out.
On certain stages, it’s important to provide ample shade during periods of intense sunlight for the comfort of our guests. Additionally, we could offer an option for them to purchase sunscreen to help protect against sunburn.
Apart from providing adequate sun protection for the guests, Newbold noted that this also presents an opportunity for players to earn extra money by selling sunscreen lotion, thus offering them a financial boost. Additionally, Newbold highlighted the importance of ensuring guests have access to umbrellas and shops are equipped with covers during rain, as this prevents the guests from getting uncomfortable or miserable due to inclement weather.
In Planet Coaster, there were multiple methods for earning money, but it seems that the game also offers additional chances for financial growth through the inclusion of weather features. This aspect aligns with the emphasis on detail and authenticity in Planet Coaster 2, as Woods mentioned that weather is an integral part of a real-life theme park experience, particularly when considering British weather patterns. However, it’s uncertain if other types of weather will be included in the game at this stage.
