Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4

Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4

Highlights

  • Artemis, Mordecai’s mysterious homeland, presents an intriguing narrative possibility for Borderlands
  • Pandora, the origin of Vault Hunters, remains a compelling location with untapped potential for exploration.
  • Promethea’s loose ends and Sercannus-3’s corporate wars offer rich storytelling opportunities for future games.

As a long-time fanatic of the Borderlands series, I must say that the potential planets for exploration in future installments are as exciting as the loot-filled mayhem we’ve come to expect. Sercannus-3, with its mysterious resources and corporate wars, reminds me of the Wild West, where no good can ever truly come from greed.

In a recent hint, Borderlands 4 might be on its way, but enthusiasts of the loot-shooting series are left guessing about its appearance when it’s finally unveiled. One allure of this sci-fi saga lies in the chance to explore bizarre planets, brimming with dangerous alien lifeforms that seem intent on tearing apart every Vault Hunter they come across.

Talking about planets, here’s a list of some potential planets that could appear in _Borderlands 4_, assuming it gets officially announced. One is the homeworld of one of the galaxy’s best shooters, while another is a heavenly resort planet often teased throughout the series but never accessible for players to explore.

6 Artemis

Mordecai’s Planet Of Origin

Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4
  • First Appearance: Borderlands (Mentioned)
  • Biome: Selvatic (Hypothetically)

As a dedicated fan, I stumbled upon an intriguing reference to Artemis during my Echo device exploration. This mysterious planet, home to Mordecai – one of the first Vault Hunters – and Bloodwing’s native land, remains shrouded in mystery with its geography and alien inhabitants yet to be fully understood. However, it’s been confirmed that an annual Sharpshooting competition takes place there, with Mordecai being a participant. Unfortunately, he was later implicated in cheating allegations.

It could be intriguing to delve into the location where the sharpshooter and his loyal winged ally initially crossed paths. Discovering if a Vault resides in that area would be an added bonus. Additionally, there’s an unresolved fan theory regarding how Mordecai formed a bond with Bloodwing – a storyline the developers might want to tap into when introducing Artemis to the narrative.

5 Pandora

The Homeland Of Vault Hunters

Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4
  • First Appearance: Borderlands
  • Biome: Desertic/Frozen Wasteland

Originally where the story started, and the epicenter for Vault Hunters throughout the cosmos. Whether additional Eridian artifacts remain buried beneath this world’s desolate terrain is a mystery, but I can only imagine the secrets waiting to be uncovered in its expansive, treacherous landscape. Given that Borderlands 3 has begun exploring beyond Pandora, it’s reasonable to assume there are still undiscovered realms out there.

Even though I only got a taste of Pandora during my initial visit, there’s no denying that there’s more to explore. Expanding my travel logs for this planet seems like a great plan. After all, some key characters from this franchise call this desert world home, so revisiting Pandora is non-negotiable.

4 Promethea

There’s A Lot Of Loose Ends Here

Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4
  • First Appearance: Borderlands 3
  • Biome: Swamp

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but ponder over the enigmatic Atlas Corporation, the very foundation from where its power radiates, and the celestial body where the first Vault was discovered – the captivating planet of Promethea. The events surrounding Atlas and Rhys Strongfork in the Maliwan/Atlas corporate wars, as portrayed in Borderlands 3, have left me questioning the future of the corporation and its influential leader, Rhys.

Beyond its raw, untouched facets, Promethea and its ancient Eridian ruins are also mysteriously interwoven with complex tunnel systems, as revealed by certain ECHO devices encountered during our journey, suggesting there’s a vast amount yet to be uncovered about this world.

3 Sercannus-3

Scenario Of One Of The Worse Corpo Wars Ever

Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4
  • First Appearance: Borderlands 2 DLC (Mentioned)
  • Biome: Unknown

In the downloadable content (DLC) for Borderlands 2 titled Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary, there’s a fleeting reference to Sercannus-3 in a set of ECHO logs between a spy and his operations center. The voice recordings suggest that this planet is of great significance, as it has caught the attention of two major weapon manufacturing conglomerates, Vladoff and Tediore, who are engaged in a fierce conflict over its enigmatic resources.

Could they be searching for Eridian artifacts? Is it plausible that this could be a sign of something significant in the next installment of the series? With the other corporations keeping a low profile, we can only guess what Vladoff and Tediore have been up to, but it’s likely they’ve been up to no good.

2 Tantalus

Birthplace Of Handsome Jack

Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4
  • First Appearance: Borderlands 2 (Mentioned)
  • Biome: Unknown

Through a set of ECHO devices left behind by Sarah, Axton’s wife, players uncover details about Handsome Jack’s home planet. This reveals a side story where Atlas Corporation is actively working on the planet, and Sarah is one of the mercenaries they’ve hired to seize control of specific regions within this expansive land, as part of their larger project.

It’d be intriguing to discover the impact Handsome Jack had on his planet, especially considering he was the father of a Siren. This might suggest an active Eridian Vault influence in that world. Investigating this connection could lead to an engaging storyline, given our limited knowledge about Angel’s past.

1 Aquator

A Resort Planet, Imagine If A Plague Of Psychos Were To Invade

Planets That Should Be Included In Borderlands 4
  • First Appearance: Borderlands (Mentioned)
  • Biome: Aquatic Tropical with Archipelago Islands

In the tales told across ECHO devices, overheard whispers from characters, and visual narratives, Aquator is frequently referenced. This mysterious planet is not only mentioned in Borderlands but also in Borderlands 2. What sets Aquator apart is that its name combines ‘Aqua’ (water) and ‘Ecuador,’ hinting at a design inspired by the Caribbean.

In the promotional posters for their Luxury Resort Villas, there’s a message that reads “One Planet, One Ocean,” accompanied by an image of idyllic island groups with dense forests and pristine beaches. It could be intriguing if the creators of Borderlands included a mission where we can traverse a tropical resort under siege during a Psycho uprising, or perhaps experience a planet-wide corporate takeover.
