Game Rant is excited to share a new gameplay trailer for Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. The trailer is designed like a funny livestream and highlights some of the biggest improvements in this updated version of the game, including a challenging permadeath mode and the ability to play locally with a friend.
The classic game *Plants vs. Zombies*, first launched in May 2009, is getting a remastered version with improved graphics. Called *Replanted*, it will be available starting October 23rd.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Releases Parody Livestream Gameplay Trailer
Electronic Arts recently gave Game Rant an exclusive first look at gameplay for its new game with a unique trailer. The trailer is designed as a fake livestream on a platform called Twig, featuring online creators NoCapShroom and SpudBoi (who, predictably, loves potatoes!). It showcases the game’s main features, confirming that this updated version of *Plants vs. Zombies* builds on the original tower defense gameplay with new modes like Cloudy Day and Rest in Peace, plus the option for local co-op.
Beyond playing with friends, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will let you battle locally against another player, where one person controls the zombies and tries to devour the other’s brains. The new trailer showcases both this mode and a new “Rest in Peace” option, which adds permadeath to the Adventure mode – failing a level means losing your entire save file. For a less drastic challenge, the “Cloudy Day” mode limits sunlight, making even simple defense setups more strategic and difficult.
Everyone remembers *Plants vs. Zombies* as a classic mobile game from the first days of smartphones, and a remastered version called *Replanted* is coming soon. This updated game will bring fresh features and improved graphics to modern devices, while still including beloved mini-games like Wall-Nut Bowling, Whack a Zombie, and Zombiequarium. Players can also look forward to puzzles, extra levels, achievements, and new ways to adjust the game’s speed.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Coming to PC and Consoles on October 23
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will launch on October 23rd on PC and the most recent Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. Both PopCap Games, the original creators of the series, and EA’s The Lost Pixels studio worked together to create the remastered version. Following the game’s release, a new Plants vs. Zombies graphic novel is planned for March 2026.
