Plants vs. Zombies Reveals New Graphic Novel [EXCLUSIVE]

Dark Horse Comics and PopCap Games have revealed “It’s a Dogz Life” as the upcoming Volume 25 in the beloved series of Plants vs. Zombies graphic novels. This new volume promises more fun-filled adventures for enthusiasts from the ever-popular Plants vs. Zombies franchise.

Ever since I first got hooked on Plants vs. Zombies back in 2009, this gaming franchise has been expanding like crazy! The original game was all about a thrilling tower defense battle between my green gardening crew and an undead horde of zombies. As time went by, the series grew with spin-off games like Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare that offered a fresh third-person shooter experience. Now, there’s even a graphic novel series following the story, and I can hardly wait to see what happens next!

Plants vs. Zombies Volume 25: It’s a Dogz Life is a New Graphic Novel, and It’s Coming Next Year

Dark Horse Comics and PopCap Games have revealed that the upcoming graphic novel, titled Plants vs. Zombies Volume 25: It’s a Dogz Life, is the next addition to the popular comic book series. This volume, set for release on March 3, 2026 (with comic shops receiving it a day later), is written by Paul Tobin, who has previously contributed to the Plants vs. Zombies universe in volumes 1-24. The artwork is handled by Christianne Gillenardo-Goudreau, with colors by Heather Breckel and letters by Steve Dutro. Cover art is also provided by Gillenardo-Goudreau. If you’re excited to get your hands on this $12.99 hardcover volume (containing 88 pages) when it hits bookstores, pre-orders are now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, as well as at local stores.

In addition to announcing the upcoming chapter in the “Plants vs. Zombies” comic book saga, Dark Horse Comics shared some insights about the storyline. As suggested by the title, “Plants vs. Zombies Volume 25: It’s a Dogz,” the narrative centers around Dr. Zomboss and his missing pet dog. The characters, including Patrice, Nate, Crazy Dave, and their plant allies, are tasked with finding it. Although specifics are scarce, it seems that “Plants vs. Zombies Volume 25” will be filled with chaos, given Dr. Zomboss’s prominent role in the series. The cover art hints that Mr. Stubbins may have a significant part to play as well.
