Summary
- Infold introduces Epiphany Crystals for its gacha system, sparking player dissatisfaction.
- Past issues with Limited-Time Revelation Crystals & overpriced items led to backlash.
- Infold responds by offering free outfits & preparing housing & dye features in Version 1.5.
Infinity Nikki is unveiling a fresh form of currency for its gacha system called Epiphany Crystals. However, this announcement hasn’t been met with enthusiasm by many players due to concerns that have been simmering since launch. Although Infinity Nikki has built a solid reputation for being generous towards its fanbase, a few incidents have kept the community on edge. The two most significant issues causing concern revolve around Limited-Time Revelation Crystals and the Moonlight Oath outfit. While the former was criticized as a predatory practice, the latter was perceived as overpriced.
Following player suggestions, Infold shifted from using time-limited currency and high-priced cosmetics, instead introducing the Heartfelt Gifts program in Version 1.2 – a series of nine free outfits distributed to players across three updates of Infinity Nikki. Generally, the community was satisfied with the gacha system within the game, as the developers were diligently working on readying housing and dye features for release in Version 1.5.
It turns out that Infold has been experimenting with a fresh currency called Epiphany Crystals, to be employed for drawing 4-Star costumes in Infinity Nikki. This news was made public on April 6, 2025, and the player feedback has largely been negative, as evidenced by sukiidakara’s post on the Infinity Nikki subreddit.
Infinity Nikki Introduces a New Gacha Currency
In the debate surrounding Epiphany Crystals, the primary concern lies in their addition to an already intricate monetary system within games like Infinity Nikki. Players are required to collect Diamonds, either through real-world purchases or by completing game content. These Diamonds can be exchanged for Revelation Crystals and Resonance Crystals. The Revelation Crystals serve a purpose in limited banners, while the Resonance Crystals are utilized for permanent ones.
Introducing Epiphany Crystals in Infinity Nikki encourages players to engage with both types of limited banners. It’s worth mentioning that Revelation Crystals will continue to be used for pulling 4-Star outfits, but Epiphany Crystals won’t be applicable for the 5-Star ones. This means that Epiphany Crystals hold less value than Revelation Crystals. Some Infinity Nikki players are anticipating that these new crystals will be priced differently as a result. Epiphany Crystals are set to debut in the latter half of Version 1.4, following their unveiling alongside the upcoming Pastoral Dance and Enchanted Writing outfits. The developers’ future plans for Epiphany Crystals remain uncertain, but Infinity Nikki has consistently shown a willingness to consider player input.
