PlayStation will be holding another State of Play event later this week. This follows a recent showcase focused on the upcoming James Bond game, *007 First Light*. For the past couple of weeks, there’s been talk of a new event, and Sony has now confirmed it will be a 35-minute presentation with new updates and announcements. During the event, viewers will get a detailed look at *Saros*, the new game from Housemarque.
Following the success of their 2021 PlayStation 5 exclusive, *Returnal*, Housemarque announced their next game, *Saros*, in February 2025. While not a direct sequel to *Returnal* as some fans hoped, *Saros* will expand on the gameplay and storytelling of the 2021 roguelike, but with some new features. Housemarque explained that *Saros* will let players select and permanently improve their equipment – weapons and suit upgrades – allowing them to become more powerful with each playthrough, a feature not present in *Returnal*.
PlayStation State of Play Coming September 24
PlayStation is giving fans a new look at the upcoming game *Saros* this week! Housemarque will be showcasing 5 minutes of gameplay during the State of Play event on Wednesday, September 24th at 2 PM Pacific Time / 5 PM Eastern Time / 11 PM Central European Summer Time. The 35-minute event will also include news and reveals from developers worldwide, with updates on both upcoming third-party and indie games, as well as titles from PlayStation Studios.
We know *Saros* will be at the event, but everything else is still a secret. As usual in the gaming world, leaks and rumors are flying around. Several industry experts and journalists are suggesting we might finally see *Marvel’s Wolverine* at this week’s State of Play. While PlayStation and Insomniac haven’t officially confirmed anything, it’s been four years since the game was first announced, and we haven’t heard much since a few details were accidentally leaked. If the rumors are true, that’s about to change.

Even though the year is almost over, the next State of Play presentation could still reveal some exciting new games and add-on content. We’re likely to see more about *STALKER 2* for PlayStation 5, which launches on November 30th. Plus, with *Ghost of Yotei* – arguably the biggest PlayStation 5 exclusive of the year – releasing October 2nd, we might get one last preview. Many players are also hoping for another trailer for *Resident Evil Requiem*, which is scheduled to come out early next year.
