PlayStation 4 and 5 players can currently get a special set of Resident Evil character avatars for their accounts. But hurry – you only have until April 30th to claim them!
To celebrate 30 years of Resident Evil, special PlayStation avatars are now available. The original Resident Evil game, released in 1996, was a groundbreaking title that helped define the survival horror genre. Over the past three decades, the series has grown to include 11 main games, four significant remakes, more than 15 spin-off titles and ports, plus numerous movies and TV shows. The latest installment, Resident Evil Requiem, was released in February and has been highly praised by critics, earning an average score of 89 on OpenCritic.
PlayStation Users Can Claim Free Resident Evil Avatars Until April 30
Reddit user Ghastion recently posted on the Resident Evil subreddit about a free offer for PlayStation users: a set of exclusive avatars. The avatars include ten different designs – five feature classic Resident Evil heroes like Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, and Ada Wong in a hand-drawn style, while the other five showcase those same characters as they appear in the Resident Evil CG movies.
Although these Resident Evil PlayStation avatars are free, getting them requires a somewhat complicated process.
- Wishlist or purchase Resident Evil Requiem
- Download the Sony Pictures Core app (found in the media tab on PlayStation 5 home screen or PS Store on PS4)
- Sign up on the campaign website
If you complete all three steps, you’ll receive a voucher to unlock all 10 Resident Evil avatars. But you need to finish everything by 10:59 AM Eastern Time on April 30th, as that’s when the offer expires. Keep in mind that you won’t get the voucher code right away. Instead, it will be sent via email, PlayStation app notifications, or as a notification on your PS4 or PS5 by late June 2026. The official website also mentions that there might be some delays in delivering the vouchers.
