As a PlayStation fan, I was blown away by a recent achievement! Someone actually earned the Platinum Trophy in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus – and it’s a first! Apparently, no one has legitimately unlocked that Platinum before, which is incredible considering how tough PlayStation games can be. It’s a really impressive feat!
Man, the Ninja Gaiden games are famous for being brutally hard, and that’s something I really love about them. Just finishing one of these games feels like a huge accomplishment. But if you’re like me and really want to test your skills, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus has this Platinum Trophy challenge that’s supposed to be the ultimate test. Honestly, it’s so tough that most people who’ve tried just haven’t been able to get it. It’s a real badge of honor if you do!
Gamer Becomes the First Person to Officially Earn Platinum in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus
As a huge Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus fan, I was absolutely blown away to hear that someone finally unlocked the Platinum Trophy on the PS Vita version! It’s been 13 years, and no one had managed it until March 28, 2026, when a gamer named Tqvry streamed the attempt and pulled it off. Seriously, this wasn’t easy – it took them a year and eight months of dedication! The final stream alone was 10 hours long, showing off all the hard work. Apparently, Tqvry is the first and only person to get the Platinum on Vita, which is crazy when you consider over 2,000 people have done it on the PS3 version. There are definitely reasons why it’s so much harder on Vita, but it’s still an incredible achievement!
Okay, so as a huge Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus fan, let me tell you about the Dynamic Duo Trophy – it’s notoriously difficult! You need to beat the whole game on Turbo mode with a co-op partner. Turbo mode already speeds everything up by 50% in a game that’s already super fast-paced, but the real kicker is finding a co-op partner on the PS Vita version. Unfortunately, the Vita version doesn’t let you play online with another person, so you’re stuck with the AI. Honestly, the Vita’s hardware struggles a bit, causing frame rate drops, and the AI partner is often more of a problem than a help. It’s gotten to the point where most people who tried for the Platinum Trophy years ago just gave up on getting this one!
Tqvry spent ten hours streaming their attempt to get the Platinum Trophy, culminating in a challenging boss fight against three bosses and an AI companion. They figured out how to best utilize their companion, mainly by having it draw the bosses’ attention while Tqvry focused on taking down one boss at a time. Despite the strategy, it still took a full ten hours, and ultimately, a lucky glitch secured the win. During the final attempt, one of the bosses unexpectedly became stuck in the ground, making the fight much easier by reducing the number of active enemies.
Tqvry has now achieved this incredible record, and while someone might eventually break it, they’ll always be remembered as the first to do so in the PlayStation trophy hunting world – and they have the evidence to prove it! It’s unknown if Tqvry will attempt other feats like this, but their consistent dedication to gaming is clear. Since creating their PSNProfiles account in 2018, they’ve also earned 100% completion in over 200 other games. For now, they deserve to celebrate this impressive win in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus.
