Sony has updated the PlayStation Store to let players write detailed reviews up to 4,000 words for games they own. Previously, users could only give a star rating, but now they can share more comprehensive feedback alongside that rating, similar to what’s available on platforms like Steam.
PlayStation fans are in for a treat with this new addition, especially considering the fantastic games released this year on PS4 and PS5. Titles like *Ghost of Yotei*, which launched earlier this month to critical acclaim, and *Death Stranding 2*, a potential Game of the Year winner since June, have already made a big impact. Now, PS Plus members can also enjoy the critically acclaimed sequel *Alan Wake 2*, released in 2023, along with *Cocoon* and *Goat Simulator 3*.
PlayStation Store Update Adds Written Reviews
As a PC gamer, I’ve always loved Steam – it’s constantly getting better with updates, has awesome sales, and just makes buying games easy. Now it looks like Sony is finally catching on! They’ve just updated the PlayStation Store so we can actually *write* reviews for games, instead of just giving them a star rating. Right now, you can only do it on the website, but hopefully it’ll come to the PlayStation console itself soon. If you buy games digitally on the PlayStation Store, you can now write a full review – up to 4,000 words, actually! – give it a title, the usual star rating, and even mark it with a spoiler warning if you need to. It’s a great way to share your thoughts and help other players decide what to play.

Allowing players to write reviews is a great addition, especially for those unsure about buying a game. While a star rating gives a quick overview, reading full reviews for new releases like *Battlefield 6* or *Ghost of Yotei* helps people understand exactly what to expect and decide if it’s worth the purchase. The feature is brand new, but players are already using it a lot, particularly for *Ghost of Yotei*. One player even said they’re worried about finishing the game because they don’t think anything else will compare. Another user believes *Yotei* is even better than *Ghost of Tsushima*.

If you’ve been waiting to buy a PlayStation 5, now’s a great time! Sony has released a new version of the console with some noticeable improvements. One of the biggest changes is a switch from a shiny finish to a matte one – a feature many fans have asked for, as the shiny surface easily showed fingerprints. The new PS5 Digital Edition is also a bit lighter, about 4.23 ounces, but it does have less storage space than the previous model.
