As a seasoned gamer with decades of Pokemon gaming under my belt, I must say that the latest demonic Shellder variant by Matratzfratz is nothing short of breathtaking! This artistic community never ceases to amaze me with their creativity and dedication to expanding the universe of our beloved franchise.

A highly creative Pokémon enthusiast artist has recently unveiled a chilling twist on the Shellder character. The vibrant Pokémon community often enjoys crafting unauthorized variations of popular creatures, and this fresh piece showcases the impressive results that such creations can achieve.

In the first generation of Pokemon games, Shellder is a water-based creature that was initially presented. It’s commonly found in aquatic regions within both Pokemon Red and Blue. Upon being subjected to a Water Stone, Shellder undergoes evolution into the dual Water/Ice type known as Cloyster. Unfortunately, since its initial introduction, Shellder hasn’t been given any official variants or new evolutions.

Currently, a fan of Pokémon named Matratzfratz has come up with an intriguing twist on the Shellder character, which he’s reimagined as a demonic creature called Hellder. This Fire/Dark-type Pokémon bears a striking resemblance to its original counterpart but features notable changes such as a bi-forked tongue, two horns, and a red shell instead of the usual blue one. The Pokémon community has generally appreciated Matratzfratz’s creation, with many fans admiring the unique name and some expressing interest in seeing a similarly reimagined version of Cloyster in a hellish setting.

Pokemon Fan Designs Hellish Version of Shellder

Matratzfratz is quite active as a fan artist within the Pokemon community, regularly showcasing their creative works. For instance, last week they came up with an archaic Paradox form for Grovyle named Old Wing. In this new concept, the fan portrayed the creature as a Flying-type beast reminiscent of a pterodactyl adorned in feathers of brown, yellow, and auburn hues. This redesign was quite different from the original Pokemon’s design but offered an engaging twist on the initial Grass-type monster.

Besides Matratzfratz, other artists have come up with different versions of the Shellder character. For example, a fan of Pokemon created regional variations for both Shellder and Cloyster last year. These variations transformed them into Ice/Poison-type creatures, featuring a white shell adorned with purple stripes and long, poisonous tongues.

Many enthusiasts of the Pokemon series often create their own versions, such as regional variants or Paradox forms, but some fans take this a step further by developing original concepts for the franchise’s creatures. One recent example is a fan who has given Onix a makeover inspired by a D20, featuring an Onix sculpted from multi-sided blue dice with sides ranging from 4 to 20. As the Pokemon series remains popular over the years and anticipation builds for the upcoming game, Pokemon Legends Z-A, set to be released next year, it’s likely that more creative takes on classic Pokemon will emerge as fans continue to showcase their talents.
