As a dedicated Pokémon fan who’s been playing since the good ol’ Red and Blue days, I must say this creative take on Castform’s evolution line by Reddit user IridescentMirage has left me utterly spellbound! The idea of filling the gap that Gen 3 Castform has had for so long with such thoughtful and unique designs is simply inspired.
A passionate Pokemon enthusiast has sketched out two imaginative advancements for the Castform Pokemon, paying homage to the third generation of these beloved creatures. Ever since Castform joined the Pokemon world in Gen 3, it has not had any evolutions, but this artist presents an intriguing concept to address that gap.
The beloved franchise, known as “Pokemon,” made its debut back in 1998 with the launch of “Red and Blue.” Over time, as new generations have been introduced, the Pokedex has grown to include more than a thousand unique Pokemon. In addition to introducing new species, Generation 2 featured day and night cycles, Generation 3 incorporated double battles, and Generation 4 enabled global trading. The games “Ruby and Sapphire” were the initial “Pokemon” titles released for the Game Boy Advance, and even after over two decades, some fans still hold them in high regard. These games were later remade for the Nintendo 3DS in 2014, introducing features like Mega Evolutions and Primal Reversions for certain Pokemon. Now, a dedicated fan has designed two new evolutions for the Gen 3 Pokemon Castform.
As a dedicated Pokémon enthusiast, I stumbled upon an intriguing post by Reddit user IridescentMirage showcasing an imaginative take on Castform’s evolutionary forms. The middle form, inspired by raindrops and wind gusts, sports bubbles relocated to its eyes and along its body, resembling a tadpole-like creature. The final form, strikingly similar to a three-legged starfish, exhibits wisps of clouds emanating from each leg and expressive eyes that seem to smile through the clouds.
Pokemon Fan Makes Unique Castform Evolutions
In the third generation of Pokémon games, which were the first to incorporate weather effects, Castform made its debut. Given that Castform has distinct forms for sun, rain, and snow, it’s only fitting that these could potentially carry over into any future evolutions. Although IridescentMirage hasn’t revealed weather-specific forms yet, it’s reasonable to assume the sunny form might feature warm colors, while the rainy one might be darker. As weather effects remain a key aspect of modern Pokémon games, it’s possible that Game Freak could consider expanding Castform’s evolution or introducing new forms for hail, sandstorms, and fog if the character gains more popularity in the future.
It’s been verified by IridescentMirage that they plan to design 2D sprites and potentially complete artwork for the evolutions of Castform. As Game Freak works on new Pokemon games, there’s a chance that an upcoming release might finally focus on Castform.
