A Pokemon fan took to social media to share their take on an evolution for Jynx, one of the original Pokemon that has yet to receive an official evolution. The Pokemon fan artist posted a detailed analysis of their Jynx evolution concept, including abilities, statistics, and the reasons behind their creation’s name and likeness.

In the world of Pokémon, Jynx, nicknamed the Human-like Pokémon, first appeared in both Pokémon Red and Blue. Unlike many wild-caught Pokémon, trainers in Kanto could only acquire Jynx through a trade in Cerulean City, after offering a Poliwhirl. As a dual Ice/Psychic type, Jynx excels at moves like Ice Beam, Psychic, and Shadow Ball due to its impressive 115 special attack score. Unfortunately, its low defense, attack, and HP make it less competitive in battles. Furthermore, Jynx remains one of the few unobtainable Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet post-release of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.

Despite not appearing in the ninth generation of Pokémon games, fans continue to show interest in the Human Shape Pokémon, Jynx. On the r/pokemon subreddit, a user named IndigoFenix shared their idea for what an evolved form of Jynx could look like, which they called Takyonna, or the Snow Witch Pokémon. The concept includes tentacles at the bottom of its dress, an aurora pattern on most of its body, gray hair, and dark sunglasses to cover its eyes. IndigoFenix mentioned that the design for Takyonna was influenced by a leaked Mega Jynx design from Pokémon X and Y that didn’t make it into the final game.

IndigoFenix explained that the name “Takyonna” originated from the Japanese words for octopus (“Tako”) and a snow woman Yokai (“Yuki-onna”), with Jynx serving as a basis. The lower body and tentacles of Takyonna were designed inspired by Disney’s villain Ursula. Unlike Jynx, however, Takyonna retained its Ice and Psychic dual-type, but its special attack and speed were enhanced even further. IndigoFenix also equipped Takyonna with the Protean ability, which allows it to switch between types based on the initial move used in a battle. With its impressive stats and Protean ability, Takyonna could be a viable choice for competitive Pokemon battles.

In response, one Pokemon enthusiast expressed appreciation for the Ursula-inspired elements in Takyonna’s design. However, it’s still uncertain if Jynx will receive any long-overdue updates when Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to release in 2025.
