A fan of Pokémon has unveiled their concept for a potential new regional form of Yamask. The proposed redesign offers a glimpse into Yamask’s former existence, and it appears that many Pokémon enthusiasts appreciate this innovative idea.
In the official Pokemon series, there are various regional versions of Pokemon, but fans have created numerous additional designs beyond what’s featured in the games. These fan-designed regional variations are quite popular and offer players the chance to envision alternative ideas while preserving many of the traits that initially made the Pokemon appealing.
Currently, a dedicated Pokemon enthusiast named joedpunk has unveiled an imaginative concept for a new regional form of Yamask. Unlike the existing Galarian regional variant, this fan-designed version presents a unique twist – instead of Yamask’s usual mask or ancient tablet, it sports a knight’s helmet. Although the fundamental structure, design, and Pokemon type remain largely unchanged, this Yamask exudes a more melancholic demeanor, with its purple eyes appearing to brim with tears as if on the verge of crying. The fan even proposed a Shiny variant, which follows a color scheme similar to that of Shiny Galarian Yamask, with the helmet adopting a darker hue.
New Yamask Regional Variant Has Unique Qualities
In their latest update, the artist has unveiled a Pokedex entry for an intriguing version of Yamask they’ve nicknamed the “Knightly Spirit” variant. This particular Yamask is often spotted in abandoned fortresses and once belonged to a human, as evidenced by the knight’s helmet it carries instead of its traditional mask. Remarkably, this Pokemon still adheres to its ancient chivalric code, which bestows upon it a unique ability called Vigil of Valor. This skill enhances its defense when shielding fellow Pokemon or when it takes an attack that would normally be highly effective against it.

Enthusiasts of Pokemon are captivated by this particular Yamask version and look forward to seeing the form it will transform into as well. Fans have even proposed the idea of having a distinct version of Yamask in each region where Pokemon games have been based, suggesting that this would add an interesting twist to the gameplay. One fan thought that this unique form would have fit perfectly with Galar, considering its ties to Great Britain, but also considered it suitable for the Kalos region as well.
