A Pokémon enthusiast has shared an impressive new design for a Paradox version of the legendary Pokémon, Ho-Oh. The Pokémon franchise, known for its many memorable creatures, often inspires fans to create their own artwork and tributes. Fans have reimagined Pokémon in countless ways – from human-like versions to crafts inspired by popular characters like Pikachu and Charizard. But the recent games, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, have given fans a fresh way to redesign their favorite Pokémon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced a unique concept called Paradox Pokemon – versions of existing creatures from the past and future. Players can discover these in the Paldea region’s Area Zero. The Indigo Disk expansion added even more Paradox forms, including new takes on classic Legendary Pokemon like the Legendary Beasts of Johto and the Swords of Justice from Unova. Now, a fan has created their own version of a Paradox Pokemon, reimagining a beloved Legendary from the original Pokemon games.
Pokemon Fan Designs Stunning Ancient Paradox Ho-Oh
A Reddit user named ABZ_Designs shared incredible artwork of a redesigned Ho-Oh on the Pokemon subreddit. The new design, created in the style of longtime Pokemon artist Ken Sugimori, gives Ho-Oh legs and much smaller wings, making it look a bit like a velociraptor. The artist playfully calls this ancient form ‘Ho-Old,’ and even invented a unique attack for it called Prism Flame, changing its type from Flying to Dragon. They went a step further, imagining a whole Pokemon game around this new version of Ho-Oh, and even designed logos for fictional games called Pokemon Valor and Pokemon Justice.

The fan-made Paradox Ho-Oh was very popular, and the artist shared details about how they created it. They explained their inspiration came from a large, flightless bird called a Gastornis, and that they considered giving it a Rock typing to emphasize a fossil-like appearance instead of a Paradox form. Someone asked if they planned to create a Paradox Lugia, and the artist said they were thinking about it after finishing some current work.

Pokemon fans are also anticipating major announcements about what’s coming next for the series.
