Pokemon Card Collection Includes Some Banned Rarities

The collection boasts both First Edition and Shadowless cards, as well as Japanese and English versions of Pokémon cards. However, some Japanese Pokémon cards were prohibited in Western regions due to their original artwork. Particularly, Misty’s Tears and Sabrina’s Gaze cards were banned. The former was forbidden because the card art depicted nudity, while the latter was deemed inappropriate as Sabrina’s hand position could be misconstrued as flashing a rude gesture. Although the ban on Misty’s card seems justified, it’s plausible that Sabrina’s illustration didn’t originally intend anything offensive.
