Their Venusaur was a gift from Professor Oak, and they obtained Aerodactyl by reviving a fossil. Hitmonlee came from the Fighting Dojo, while Jolteon was evolved from an Eevee found in Celadon City. They also used a free Lapras received in Saffron City, and Mr. Mime was likely acquired by trading for an Abra at the Game Corner.
