Pokemon Gen 10 Leak Reveals 9 New Environments

A collection of screenshots reportedly showing an early version of the next Pokemon games has appeared online. These leaked images reveal nine different areas, and one in particular suggests the return of underwater exploration – a feature that hasn’t been seen in Pokemon games for over a decade.

Information about the next Pokemon games, Generation 10, has been appearing online since a large leak in October 2024, which seems to have come from a security issue at Game Freak. According to the leaked details, the new games will likely be called Pokemon Wind and Wave or Winds and Waves. Experts studying the leaked information believe the games will take place in a region inspired by Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia.

Pokemon Wind and Wave Leak Reveals Underwater Area

New details about the upcoming Pokemon Wind and Wave games were revealed on February 6th when a Twitter user named Grubbinscrubbin posted what they claim are screenshots from a work-in-progress version. The images showcase nine different locations, which seem to be unique areas, though a few might just be different views of the same place. One particularly interesting image shows an underwater scene with a seafloor covered in pink algae and light-colored sand.

Underwater Routes Possibly Returning in Pokemon Wind and Wave

The new scenery shown in Pokemon Wind and Wave hints that underwater routes might be returning to the Pokemon games. It’s been over ten years since players could explore underwater areas – the last time was in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, released in 2012. Like in those games, and in previous Pokemon games set in the Hoenn and Unova regions, players would likely need a special move (like Dive) to access these areas. Since the new games are rumored to take place in a region made up of islands, adding underwater exploration would make sense, as players will likely be spending a lot of time traveling on and around water.

Mainline Pokemon Games With Underwater Routes

  • Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald
  • Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire
  • Pokemon Black / White
  • Pokemon Black 2 / White 2

One of the leaked images appears to show a large city that might be the same one previously revealed in a December 2025 leak for Pokemon Wind and Wave. The new image highlights a large park with what looks like a pond or a blue-tiled area, surrounded by buildings that blend futuristic and historical styles. A sandy cliff in the corner suggests the city is located in a desert region.

A leaked image from February 2026 shows the edge of a swamp with a large, hollow tree stump in the middle. The swamp seems to lead into a bright, grassy area. Interestingly, the image has a heavily pixelated section in the center, likely to hide where the leak came from. If the image is from an actual game build, this blurry area probably marks where the player was standing. The pixelation is so strong that the section is reduced to just a few unclear shapes, completely hiding any details or colors. Other leaked images reveal a snowy mountain, a tall desert structure that might be part of a city, and several vibrant, green landscapes.

We expect to hear about Pokemon Wind and Pokemon Wave on February 27th, which is Pokemon Day this year. The event should bring other exciting news too, as 2026 is the 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise, and The Pokemon Company will probably want to celebrate this milestone with lots of announcements and events.
