A devoted fan of Pokémon expressed both delight and puzzlement upon discovering that their recently acquired Shiny Falinks possessed what appeared to be a “tattoo.” This unexpected incident was caused by a bug in the game Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, making the Pokémon’s already unique Shiny form even more extraordinary with its additional special appearance.
Upon release, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet encountered numerous graphical glitches and lag problems. Following updates, the majority of these serious flaws have been addressed, resulting in improved performance on the Switch 2. Nevertheless, there persist some peculiarities within the game that may occasionally cause troubles such as these.
On Reddit, user The_Real_Ooma posed a question to the Pokémon community about their recently acquired Shiny Falinks, as it appeared to have “tattoos.” A picture posted reveals the Shiny Falinks in the No Retreat formation, showcasing the typical brown and gold coloration that characterizes this Shiny form. However, there’s an unusual detail on the Falinks at the back on the left side, with white markings on its body and close to its eyes. This peculiar look has sparked amusement among Pokémon enthusiasts, with some speculating that the Pokemon is a gangster or even a Shiny-Shiny Pokemon.
Why Does This Shiny Falinks Have a Tattoo?
It’s fortunate that we can easily understand why Falinks is appearing this way in the game, and it doesn’t affect gameplay negatively. Other players have noticed similar bugs before, with fans commenting about glitches they’ve seen on Maushold, Luxray, Shinx, and Lycanroc. It seems the problem arises when the game mistakenly uses the wrong texture for the Pokemon’s appearance. Either it’s loading the incorrect texture or focusing on the wrong part of it, potentially due to a misunderstanding of the UV coordinates. In some cases, this glitch made Falinks display strange, unclear symbols, while one player experienced the word “South” appearing on their Incineroar’s leg.
In other words, finding a Pokemon like this unique Falinks in the game would surely make it highly desired by fellow gamers, particularly if it was a Shiny version. However, The_Real_Ooma mentioned that after restarting the game, their Falinks reverted back to its normal Shiny appearance, erasing all the unusual markings completely. It’s possible that some Pokemon enthusiasts wouldn’t appreciate having writing on their Pokemon, so perhaps it’s a good thing this glitch is not permanent. Hopefully, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will have fewer problems than Scarlet and Violet at launch, though there might be fans who hope this strange glitch reoccurs.
