As a long-time Pokémon Go player, I am absolutely thrilled with the double dose of holiday cheer that Niantic has planned for us this year! The announcement of not one but two parts to their holiday event has me buzzing like Pikachu on an espresso high!
Pokemon GO has unveiled the second segment of its holiday event, featuring costumed versions of Wooloo and Dubwool, as well as a rare shiny Cetoddle. This event is set to be one of the last ones in 2024, taking place from December 22 to 27, and offering additional benefits for players.
In the 2023 holiday season, Niantic introduced Cetoddle, an Ice-type Pokemon from Paldea, into Pokemon GO. Similar to the following year’s event, this celebration honored Christmas by introducing multiple versions of pocket monsters. Wooloo made its appearance during a Pokemon Sword and Shield themed event back in August 2021, alongside other creatures like Zacian, Zamazenta, and Falinks. The augmented reality game has previously showcased various forms of the adorable Normal-type Wooloo, with the introduction of Shiny and Dynamax versions happening this September.
Starting from December 22 to December 27, between 10 am and 8 pm local time, the Pokemon GO Holiday Part 2 event will take place! This exciting event introduces costumed versions of Wooloo and Dubwool, as well as shiny Cetoddle. During this period, you’ll find costumed Wooloo among the wild creatures roaming around, along with other monsters like Rattatta and Zigzagoon regional variants. To get your hands on a costumed Dubwool, make sure to evolve the Wooloo that you catch during the event. Additionally, Cetoddle will be one of the creatures available in one-star raids, which also include Alolan Vulpix, Galarian Darumaka, and Litwick. For three-star raids, expect Snorlax and four other Pokemon, while five-star raids feature Giratina, with Mega Raids showcasing Mega Latios and Mega Abomasnow!

At present, the community eagerly awaits more information on Charged Embers Hatch Day and New Year’s 2025, the final Pokemon GO events to be held in 2024.
