Although nearby players can utilize the friend list to join each other’s raids using a standard Raid Pass, it appears that the new feature is primarily designed for those wanting to participate in a friend’s raid from afar. Consequently, Pokemon GO Shadow Raids, Elite Raids, and any other raid types not typically accessible with a Remote Raid Pass cannot be joined via the friends list. Furthermore, players have the choice to conceal their raid activity from their friends’ view, and those joining through the friends list won’t be granted the ability to invite others to participate.
