  • Field Research tasks grant Oranguru and Passimian encounters and rewards, along with boosted wild appearances.

As a dedicated Pokémon GO enthusiast with over a decade of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming Research Day event on September 22 is shaping up to be one for the books! The prospect of encountering Shiny Oranguru and Passimian, along with boosted wild appearances of monkey and primate Pokémon, has me absolutely thrilled.

Niantic has revealed that the upcoming ‘Pokemon GO’ Research Day event starts on September 22. In this event, Oranguru, a Normal/Psychic-type Pokemon, and Passimian, a Fighting-type Pokemon, will be prominently featured. Following the pattern of previous Timed Research events, ‘Pokemon GO’ players can complete Field Research tasks to receive free rewards and chances for encountering a Shiny Pokemon.

On September 10th, the introduction of Dynamax Pokémon took place in “Pokémon GO” as part of its current season, creatively named “Max Out.” This season, inspired by the Galar region’s Pokémon and the Dynamax form, will offer a series of special events lasting until December 3rd. Among these events are additional Community Day activities and the new Psychic Spectacular event. The initial Research Day event for the Max Out season will center around monkey and primate Pokémon that were previously featured in past events.

On Sunday, September 22, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in your local time, there’s going to be an event in Pokemon GO, called the Pokemon GO Research Day: Oranguru and Passimian Special Event. During this event, players can get new Field Research tasks by spinning Photo Discs at PokeStops within Pokemon GO. Successfully completing these tasks will result in encounters with Oranguru and Passimian. If you’re fortunate, you might even come across a Shiny Passimian in Pokemon GO for the first time ever! In addition, during this event, players will find Mankey, Aipom, Slakoth, Chimchar, and Grookey appearing more frequently than usual. The increased encounter rate means that your chances of finding a Shiny variant are slightly better too.

More events are coming up, and one of the upcoming ones is the “Pokemon GO Ponyta Community Day” on September 14th.
