As a dedicated Pokemon GO player with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel let down by Niantic’s latest announcement regarding the Team GO Rocket Takeover event. The Adventure Week: Taken Over event, which runs from August 8 to August 12, promises some exciting additions to the game with Shadow Cresselia and Lugia joining the fray. However, as someone who has eagerly anticipated the appearance of Shadow Rayquaza, I’m left feeling disappointed.
Niantic has announced the upcoming Team GO Rocket Takeover in Pokemon GO, during which players can encounter Shadow Cresselia and Lugia. However, fans are disappointed that Shadow Rayquaza won’t be making an appearance. Some have pointed out that the Pokemon GO Shared Skies trailer showcased Apex Shadow Lugia, but the event will only include the standard Shadow form instead.
In the past few days, Pokemon GO has seen some thrilling developments. These include Ultra Unlocks and annual festivals for Pokemon GO Fest. The Mega Lucario Raid Day sparked debate among fans, yet they managed to catch numerous Pokemon and receive enticing bonuses. Another event is approaching in Pokemon GO, but not everyone in the community is satisfied with it.
1. In a recent post on Twitter, Niantic unveiled details about the upcoming Team GO Rocket Takeover event, named “Adventure Week: Overrun”. This special occasion will take place from August 8th at midnight until August 12th, 11:59 pm local time. The event will introduce Shadow Lugia in 5-star Shadow raids and Shadow Cresselia as part of Giovanni’s Special Research. Players can also encounter Shadow versions of Timburr, Tirtouga, and Archen by defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts. However, the community was expecting the event to introduce Shadow Rayquaza instead of Shadow Cresselia.
Pokemon GO Team GO Rocket Takeover Event Schedule
- Schedule – Thursday, August 8, at midnight to Monday, August 12, at 11:59 p.m. local time
During the Shared Skies event in Pokemon GO, Rayquaza took center stage, and players even had a chance to capture Mega Rayquaza through Elite Raids. Many believed this was an ideal moment for Niantic to introduce the shadow variant of Rayquaza, but instead, they went with Cresselia. Though Cresselia is well-liked, Rayquaza has been cherished by both veteran and new Pokemon enthusiasts. However, dissatisfaction among fans doesn’t end there; other aspects of the game have also raised concerns.
In the trailer for Pokemon GO’s Shared Skies event, a Shadow Lugia with white lightning surrounding its body was showcased. However, Niantic has only confirmed that the regular Shadow Lugia will appear during the event. Although some fans believe that Niantic may have accidentally included the more powerful Apex Shadow Lugia in the trailer, which boasts the exclusive move Aeroblast+ for increased damage. Despite this, there’s a chance that Apex Shadow Lugia could still make an appearance in the game at a later date.
