Pokemon GO August 2025 Community Day Details Revealed

In August 2025, the community day for Pokemon GO has officially been scheduled. This announcement comes several months after Rookidee was confirmed as the main character. The specific details of this Pokemon GO event, which is set to occur towards the end of August, have now been revealed.

Starting in February 2020, Niantic started testing a new approach where the featured creatures for their Pokemon GO Community Days would be chosen by the players themselves. Players could cast their vote by accomplishing Field Research tasks; each task equated to one vote for a potential character. Although this method wasn’t applied to every subsequent Community Day, player-driven voting reappeared in several different forms over the following five years more than half a dozen times.

More recently, in June, there was a demonstration of this ongoing pattern as players were given the opportunity to vote for the Pokemon GO Community Day scheduled for August 2025. Rookidee emerged victorious from this vote, which Niantic confirmed on June 10th. Approximately six weeks later, the developer revealed all the specifics of the upcoming event, set to commence on August 30th at 2pm local time. Similar to many promotional events, the forthcoming Community Day will last for a precise duration of three hours.

During the entirety of this special occasion, there will be more frequent appearances of the small Pokemon resembling a bird in the wild. Additionally, players will experience a higher probability when trying to find a rare, shiny version of Rookidee in Pokemon GO. Niantic typically doesn’t reveal the exact odds for encountering shinies, but based on past events, fans can anticipate chances around 4%, or roughly 1 in 25. This event should provide an excellent chance to collect numerous Rookidee shiny versions.

During Community Day or up to a week afterward (ending September 6, at 10pm local time), you can develop Corvisquire and receive a Corviknight with the charged attack Air Cutter. This attack costs 45 power in Trainer battles and 55 power in Gym/Raid battles. However, even though Corviknight is exclusive to this Pokemon and benefits from same-type attack bonuses, most Pokemon GO PvP players probably won’t find much use for Air Cutter, as it is typically considered a weaker move within the charged attack category.

On August 30, you can expect a variety of rewards such as reduced hatch distance, increased candy, extended lure and incense durations, and more. For just $1.99, players can unlock a Special Research story featuring three Rookidee encounters, decorated with a Delightful Days theme, along with one Premium Battle Pass, among other perks. Furthermore, the Delightful Days Rookidee will also be accessible to free-to-play (F2P) players through themed Timed Research tasks. The time-limited objective doesn’t need to be finished during the Community Day, but rather should be completed by September 6, at 10pm local time.
