Timed Research, Field Tasks & Collection Challenge
![]()
The Pokémon GO Carnival of Flamigo event will feature new Field Tasks and Collection Challenges focused on Lotad, Spritzee, Pikipek, and Buneary. Currently, we only know the rewards will include Stardust, XP, and potentially encounters with special Pokémon related to the event. However, these details are subject to change, so it’s best to wait for the event to start for confirmation.
Field Tasks and their rewards will likely be similar to what players are used to – things like catching a certain number of Pokémon or spinning PokéStops. Completing these tasks will give players a chance to encounter Pokémon related to the current event, and some of those encounters could even lead to finding a shiny Pokémon.
If you don’t like a Field Task, you can re-roll it for a different, potentially easier one. Just go to the Field Research & Task section in the game’s menu.
The event will also feature a special timed research that you can complete for free. Completing it will reward you with items like Incense, XP, event-themed Pokémon encounters, and Stardust, among other things.
We’ll be adding details about the event’s steps and prizes here as things get started. Please come back to check for updates!
A paid ticket is available which unlocks a special timed research quest. Completing this quest will give you bonus rewards, including a Star Piece and a unique avatar pose. This premium quest costs $4.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency).
