Summary
- The Pokemon GO Community Day ticket price has doubled to $2 for January 2025.
- Fans are unhappy with the price increase due to the lack of valuable rewards.
- The event features Sprigatito, but the final evolution may not be useful in battles.
As a longtime Pokemon GO enthusiast with countless hours spent catching, battling, and exploring, I must admit that I find myself disheartened by the recent announcement regarding the Community Day ticket price increase. Having attended numerous Community Days in the past, I’ve always felt that the value provided was worth the cost, but this time around, I’m not so sure.
The lack of substantial rewards and the doubling of the ticket price have left many players, including myself, feeling rather let down. The increased price doesn’t seem to be justified by the inclusion of three encounters with Sprigatito featuring Dual Destiny-themed Special Backgrounds, especially when considering that Meowscarada, its final evolution, isn’t particularly useful in battles.
It seems that Niantic has missed an opportunity here to create a truly memorable event for their dedicated player base. I can’t help but wonder if this price increase was made with the intention of boosting revenue or if it was a misstep in understanding what makes the Community Day special for players like me.
On a lighter note, perhaps Niantic should consider introducing a “Pokemon GO Therapy” session as an additional event feature to help us all cope with these price hikes! After all, who wouldn’t want to unwind by catching some Pokemon and chatting with fellow trainers? Maybe they could even throw in a discounted ticket for good measure!
Niantic has announced that starting from the January 2025 event featuring Sprigatito, the cost of the Pokémon GO Community Day ticket will be doubled. This decision has sparked controversy among players because of the shorter duration and fewer rewards offered during Community Days in Pokémon GO, and the price hike appears to have further upset fans.
As a dedicated Pokemon GO player for many years now, I can’t help but feel both excited and apprehensive about the new year events announced for the game. I remember when I first started playing back in 2016, and the thrill of catching my very first Pikachu out in the real world was unparalleled. Since then, I’ve been hooked, always on the lookout for new Pokemon to add to my collection.
The upcoming debut of Fidough in January 2025 has me intrigued and eager to get my hands on it. However, one event in particular has stirred up a bit of controversy among the fanbase, and as someone who’s been playing for so long, I can understand why.
In my experience, events like these can bring both excitement and frustration, as they often come with new challenges and opportunities to catch rare Pokemon. While I appreciate the effort that the developers put into creating these events, I also know how difficult it can be to coordinate my schedule around them, especially when they require me to travel or stay up late. But at the same time, I’ve also made some amazing memories and connections with fellow trainers during these events, so it’s always a bittersweet experience for me.
All in all, I’m looking forward to seeing what new adventures await me in Pokemon GO this year. Whether or not the upcoming event riles up the fanbase, I know that as long as there are new Pokemon to catch and train, I’ll be right there with my Pokeballs at the ready!
In December 2024, Niantic revealed the details for the January 2025 Pokemon GO Community Day, announcing that the ticket cost would be double its original price at $2. Fans initially assumed this was a mistake, believing the ticket would retain its regular price of $1 upon release. However, upon launching the Community Day ticket within the game, it appears Niantic did indeed increase the price as stated. This decision has left many fans displeased with the price hike and some have announced their intention to avoid the event altogether due to this cost increase.
Pokemon GO Fans Unhappy About Community Day Ticket Price Increase
Fans haven’t taken kindly to the rise in price for the Sprigatito Community Day ticket in Pokemon GO. The increase seems to be due to the addition of three encounters with Sprigatito, featuring Dual Destiny-themed Special Backgrounds. However, many players are reluctant to pay an additional dollar for these backgrounds, feeling that they don’t significantly enhance the gameplay experience.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel let down by the choice of Sprigatito for the January 2025 Community Day. The final evolution, Meowscarada, doesn’t seem to be a strong contender in the GO Battle League or raids. Normally, I would eagerly buy a ticket to boost my chances of catching high-IV Pokemon, like hundos, in Pokemon GO. However, with Meowscarada not being a viable option for both PvP and PvE, it seems many players might decide to skip the ticket this time around.
