Initially, it appears that many players are still banned from playing Pokemon GO, as evidenced by complaints on Twitter and Reddit. Players who have been affected claim they receive a ban message when trying to start the game. To address this issue, Niantic suggests that these users contact their customer support team to appeal the ban. The lack of any form of compensation for this problem has not been well received within the gaming community. With the false ban issue coinciding with this, many local Pokemon GO communities that had arranged meetups for the raids were unable to catch the Pokemon, as some of their team members ended up getting banned.
