Pokemon GO Dynamax Costs Are Higher for Beldum

  • Fans are concerned about the increased candy requirements for upgrading Dynamax moves.
  • Despite some fans finding Beldum’s upgrade costs acceptable, many are skeptical about the mechanic overall.

As a dedicated Pokemon GO gamer with over a decade of experience under my belt, I must confess that I find myself standing at a crossroads with this latest update on Dynamax Beldum. On one hand, I’m thrilled to see new features and additions to the game, but on the other, the increased candy requirements for Dynamax upgrades have left me feeling like a perpetual candy collector in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory – always running short!

Fans of Pokemon GO are expressing disappointment because the cost to upgrade Beldum’s Dynamax form is significantly higher compared to other previously released Pokemon, with a difference of up to 20 candies per level. This high cost for Dynamax upgrades has been a contentious issue since its introduction, and this recent change has only added fuel to the fire among the Pokemon GO community.

The long-awaited Dynamax feature was recently added to Pokemon GO, and it has received a mixed reception from the community. While new features are always welcomed by the community, many fans consider the mechanic a gimmick. While the mechanic debuted with the Kanto starters alongside Wooloo and Skwovet, Niantic added the Dynamax variant of Beldum as part of the Psychic Spectacular event. This came off as quite a surprise since Mega Metagross has been one of the most awaited Pokemon variants in the game, and the Dynamax version was released before that. Amid that, fans are quite unhappy about another change that is coming with the new Dynamax Pokemon that is being released in Pokemon GO.

In a recent post on The Silph Road subreddit, user DaystarEld brings to light an intriguing disparity between Dynamax Beldum and other Pokemon. It appears that players will have to spend 70 Beldum candies for Max Guard and a staggering 120 Beldum candies for Max Strike in order to level up to tier 2. Although the Max Particle cost remains the same in Pokemon GO, the jump in candy requirements stands at approximately 20, which has left fans somewhat disgruntled.

Pokemon GO Fans Unhappy Over Increased Candy Requirements for Dynamax Pokemon

Given that players need extra-large candies (XL Candies) for move upgrades too, fans are questioning if they can gather enough of these special candies to perform the upgrade. For level 3 upgrades specifically, players will require 10 additional XL Candies beyond the standard amount to reach the maximum level. Furthermore, there’s concern among fans that uncommon Pokemon in Pokemon GO might have even greater candy requirements for move upgrades, potentially making it harder for them to upgrade moves.

From another perspective, some enthusiasts believe the cost for Beldum isn’t overly severe given they just had a Beldum Community Day in Pokemon GO. Nevertheless, due to the minimal effectiveness of Max moves in Pokemon GO at present, many remain somewhat apprehensive about this feature. Some anticipate adjustments to the costs down the line, but Niantic has yet to provide any information on that matter.
