Players of Pokemon GO are reporting a significant issue with the game following a recent update: Wild Pokemon are appearing much less frequently. While the popular mobile game from Scopely has kept players busy with several events since the new year – including the ‘Pinch Perfect’ event which added Gen 9 Pokemon Klawf and a Shiny Dhelmise – this latest update seems to have unintentionally reduced the number of Pokemon appearing in the wild.
Just before the ‘Pinch Perfect’ event on January 6th, Pokemon GO received an update. This update removed the McDonald’s-sponsored Gyms from the game, likely because the partnership with McDonald’s has ended. While Pokemon GO often makes small changes before events, details about this particular update were limited. Players have now noticed a significant decrease in the number of wild Pokemon appearing in the game after installing the update.
Pokemon GO Has a Major Wild Pokemon Problem

Before the update, many players could typically find 8 to 10 wild Pokemon when they opened the app, but now they’re only seeing 1 or 2. Since the latest update, many Pokemon GO players are frustrated by a big drop in the number of Pokemon appearing in the game.
